She was u native of Soot• laud, and was married to Mr. Daniel on Jttnuary :3rd 1851. They had no chil- dren. For three years they lived in Waterloo, then on the 6th of Kincer- diue, then ou the Saugeen Road, lluron, when they retired from !arming, to take a welt earned repose in the evening of their lives, at Kincardine. Although he was 82 years of age, the death of Allan McDonald was unexpect- ed, as no news of his illuess had been re- ceived at Kincardine. He died at Sarnia at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Miners where be had lived since leaving Kin- cardine, a little over a year ago. He leaves four other daughters. Tho de- ceased was born in Scotland, but lived on a farm near Ripley for many years. His wife died about five years ago. Another of the pioneers passed away on Monday evening Nov. :0th in the person of Mrs. McBrien, oft Sinton, relict of the late Jonathan Mel ion, at the age of 73 years. She had been ailing since spring, having sustained a stroke of paralysis from which she never re- covered; she was able to be np and around until three weeks ago, when fail- ing strength compelled her to keep to her bed. She was a native of Carleton county, and with her late husband settl- ed on the base line, in the fifties, passing through all the hardships incidental to pioneer life.
