Rev. Mr. Clement spent Sunday in
Toronto. His pulpit was supplied by
W. Stevens in the morning and G,W,
Webb of Seaforth in the &ening: In
place of the Review lesson in Sab-
bath school Mrs. W. Lyon gave ' an
extensive report of the recent county
convention in Goderich.
The social held under the auspices
of the Methodist Sabbath school on
the parsonage grounds on Friday ev-
ening last was a decided success. The
night was all that could be desired
and energetic committees had done
their part to make every feature a
success. The proceeds amounted to
nearly $115 which leaves a substan-
tial alance above the numerous ex-
penditures.

mes preached his farewell sermon in
the Methodist °Mach to a large con-
gregation.
On Sunday Rev. Mr. Langford of
Brussels exchanged pulpits with Rev:
J. Edmonds, preaching two excellent
discourses.
On Tuesday the very largely at-
tended funeral of the late John Mc -
Milian took place from his late resi-
dence in Morris of welch he was ab-
out the oldest settler. He having
been in business for many years in
Blyth and much respected large num-
bers of our citizens went.- to his
late residence and paid their lest ie-
spects. The funeral was in charge Of
the Masonic Order. The remains wore
inteeted- in the Union cemetery.
The ice cream social under the aiis-
piees of the Ladies' Aid of St. An-
drew's church held on Wednesday ev-
ening last was a grand success flit-
ancially and otherwise. The Winghaire
band enlivened the evening with some
line selections.
Mr. and Mrs. Bramley of Detroit
and Mr. Felker and family of Goder-
ich were visiting J. W. Bell •and
other friends 'on Wednesday.. last.
On Friday our baseball team drove
to Clinton to play a game with the
team of that town and won hand-
somely.
On Friday evening several of our
young people attended the socials at
Walton and Londesboro,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stothers have
returned from Rochester where they
went to see a. sick brother of Mr.
Stothers. The brother died six
hours before they reached Roehester,
Paralysis was the cease of death.
Deceased was 51 years of age and
leaves a widow and three sons.
