On Sunday night, April 30th Mr, Sohn
E. Scott of the 8th coil, received a teles
gram tellitg of the death of his eon,
Lancelot, who lost his life in a wreck on
the 0. P, B„ near Downie B. C., about
twenty miles west of Revelstoke. The
unfortunate young man went west three
years ngo and since then has been en.
gaged as firomait on the C. P. It., runn-
ing west from Revelstoke m here Ms
brother, Mat, is a driver. Ile was
twenty-two years and teventyseven
days old, and the youngest of Mr. Seott's
five sons. The body was inttr:ed in
Teeswator cemetery. The fatal wreck
was caused by a head-on collisott bet•
ween a west -bound passenger train and
an east coming freight. The freight
train appears to have become stalled on
the track and the crew failed to take the
eceasary preeantiona against aceidont.

vices of R. Weir as teacher of S. S. No.
4. We are exceedingly sorry to lose him
as he was a .,sincere friend of all his
pupils. Toni Smith read the address,
and little John McDonald presented the
teacher with, a gold watch, ohain and
charm, as a slight token of their appre-
ciation of his labors amongst them for
the past two years and a half.
