Retail sales among Seaforth merchants
during the Christmas season, usually the
strongest sales period of the year. did not
increase or decrease significantly from last
year. a random sampling of local merchants
indicates.
Because of the generosity of the Royal
Canadian Legion the Seaforth Community
llospital has been able to purchase another
diagnostic tool.
A Marco Slit Lamp, used in the treatment
of eye injuries by helping doctors locate
foreign objects lodged in the eyes. was
purchased last year, and is now in use at the
hospital.
A Seaforth resident and husinessman is
ailing to make a big investment in the town,
if he knows the community will support him.
The husinessman said he is willing to
invest one quarter al a million dollars in a
recreation centre which will initially house an
indoor swimming pool, weight and fitness

The boys were all supplied with a tasty
pizza lunch by the tournament committee
between games. Then. at 2 p.m., faced
Southwest London for their second game of
the tournament. During the first period, both
teams gave their fans lots of action to cheer
about. At the 6:55 mark of the first Boyd
Devereaux scored the first goal, unassisted.
Then at the 3:57 mark of the same period, Pat
Gridzak assisted Boyd with his second goal of
the game. Ahead 2-0 after the first,
Devereaux again, assisted by Chris Marion
this time, scored his third goal at the 6:06
mark of the second. '
GAMES
The third game of the Silver Stick
Tournament was on Saturday. December 27
at 9:15 when Seaforth Novice met with
Clinton.
Boyd Devereaux, assisted by Shaun
Anstett and Chris Manor', scored twenty
seconds into the first period giving Seaforth
an early lead. Less than a minute later Boyd
Devereaux popped in another with help from
Mike Hugill and Jered Munro. Chris Marion.
assisted by Steve Menially, scored the third
and final goal of the penal giving Seaforth a
3-0 lead,
Clinton came out playing hard and
defensively in the second period, allowing
only one goal netted by Jason Henderson,
assisted by Mark Van Dooren and Boyd
Devereaux.
Hard work and determination led Seaforth
to five more goals in the third period. The first
goal was scored by Boyd Devereaux, followed
by another flipped in by Shaun Anstett. Jason
Henderson shot in the seventh goal of the
game, Boyd Devereaux the eighth and the
final one was netted by Mark McNichol,
giving Seaforth a 9-0 victory. Assists
throughout the third period were by Charles
Robertson. Jason Henderson. Mike Hugill
thfee, Mark McNichol, Shaun Anstett, Boyd
Devereaux and Mike Vock.
