MERRY CHRISTMAS
:eTKi AS..nhy:.L'
The truth of decorating the tree
Since the I st of December the question in
the minds of all young children is: "W hen do
we gel the Christmas tree?" Parents can
usually put ol'f this auestion for at least two
weeks and then the older children begin to
whine also. This is when "mommy" and
"daddy" finally give in.
Usually "daddy" gets the job of taking the
kids to pick out the tree. After many years of
experience "daddy" objects but doesn't get
anywhere and decides Saturday is the day,
Now when they arrive at the tree farm all
the kids scatter to find the tree they want. As
it turns out four different ones! Atter some
pleading and begging the choice is narrowed
--down to two. Then the decision lies in
"daddy's" hands. He choses the tall but wide
one: They load it up and head for home.
"Mommy" decides to let the Christmas
tree dry. She then sends all the kids in
different directions to gather up the decora-
tions.
Here's what Christmas is. •
Then on Saturday night "daddy" brings in
the tree and sets it up. Now in the minds of
all, this is a family project but this is Saturday
night need I explain? Atter some .nagging
",daddy" is drawn from the T.V. to string up
the lights. He then disappears again to check
the score.
By the time the tree is covered in tinsel,
balls and candy canes the kids are out of
humor. They argue over certain ornaments or
that someone did more work than someone
else did or about anything they can think of,
Unfortunately decorating the tree' is not as
glamorous as shown on the television with the
whole family singing Christmas carols. Still
the scene of Christmas is in the air with
everyone at home sale and sound,.,even
though there are hockey play -by-plays in the
background.

On the day before Chrismas Santa was
working so hard he couldn't even hear but
then an elf came in and said Santa Santa, it's
only an hour away to midnight! Santa said oh
no! f have to gel three mere toys ready! Santa
said Let's all work together! So they did it and
they were all like a rocket.

SANTA SHOOTS
Santa and his elves finished many toys for
Doug, Brad and Jasen. As they have noticed
they where three weeks ahead of time for
Christmas. So Santa desided to make a
hockey rink. And all of the elf aggred. So the
next day they went out to the rink and they
made a rink. Santa and the reindeers took on
the ells in the second period the score was six,
five in favor of the elfs. But that was the
second period and this is the third with two
minits left, Santa's on the back away he faces
to the left and to the right he shoots he scores
to tie the game up at six. The puck is dropped
Santa draped the puck to the defence (rudolf )
skates with the puck, goes to the half mark,
he shoots, scores, Santa wins and Santa gives
his winning puck to Jasen.

flowers like holly, mistletoe and poinsettia. 7.
At Christmas we have a feast and we have
plum pudding, chicken, pumpkin pie and
cranberry sauce that we put on chicken. 8.
Santa Claus is chubby and his wife is Mrs.
Claus. 9. At Christmas you get Christmas
presents from Santa Claus only if you're a
good boy or girl.

CHRISTMAS 1S
Christmas is a time for toys and for shining
red bright glowing by the firelight. Santa
knows who is good and bad. When you wake
up be glad. You will wake up wide awake at
2:00. You go away to Toronto or New
Brunswick to your family because they are
the ones you love most. The big turkey looks
delicious on the plate.

Santa's eight reindeer like Dasher, Danc-

Blitzen and Rudolph of course. They all have
antlers and they fly through the air with
Rudolph's red nose glowing in the dim light. I
can hear the bells ringing from old Saint
Nick's sleigh gliding through the air. He
wears a velvet red suit, black belt and black
hoots. He has a big red hat, fluffy white
heard, plump stomach and says Ho Ho Ho.

We celebrate
just a bit different
In our house we celebrate Christmas just
about the same as any other family but we do
something different.
We have a fun way of opening our
presents.
W e all sit around the tree and line up the
presents from biggest to smallest.
Then we go to the first one and read the
name.
The person tries to guess What it is then we
open it and see if they were right. If not they
would have to do five situps without failing on
some eggs sitting under them.
After, we sit down and eat a big Christmas
supper and have a good time,
