Legion meeting well attended
The Legion executive meeting held Thurs-
day evening and chaired by President Jim
Watson, was well attended by the executive
and committee chairmen, Confirmation of a
grant to the local hospital was received from
the Charitable Foundation, which is funded
by Command and Legions across Ontario.
This is the second time Seaforth Hospital has
been favored with a grant from the Charitable
Foundation, This is a very worthwhile trust
fund if anyone or organization would wish to
make a donation to it.
The Children's Christmas Concert was also
discussed and anyone with some spare time
would be welcomed Saturday morning to help
make up the bags of candy for Santa.
Assembly time is 10 a.m. Barbara Scott is'still
looking for children who would like to
perform in the concert. If you have someone
in mind please phone 527.1787. The concert
is scheduled for2 p.m. Sunday, with Santa to
appear later in the program.
New Years tickets are now on sale,
Entertainment chairman John Lansink would
like to see all the tickets sold this year but will •
have to cut them off the weekend before to
allow the ladies time to order the food for the
meal. Please reserve your tickets no later
than the weekend of December 28. John and
his committee would tike to thank all the
people who came out to play at the Turkey
Bingos this year. It was very much
appreciated. Also 'thanks 'should go td the
committee for the work done by those who
helped in any way.

LEGION
NEWS
by Gordon Scott
A team of cribbage players from the
Affiliate members attended a Zone Compe-
tition this past Saturday at Brussels Legion
and came in sixth place which will entitle
them to play at District level in the New Year.
The team consisted of "Skinny" Broome,
Ernie Harburn, Brian Dale and Ron W illiam-
son. Congratulations Comrades and good
luck at the District.
The Legion is now entering the last two
weeks of the Early Bird Campaign for
renewing memberships. The membership
committee would like to see 100 per cent paid
up this year and with the dues increasing on
January 1, it surely is worthwhile to drop in
and pay them.
There will also be another draw at the end
of December. Those names drawn for
November 'were Terrance Hussey, Dave
Cornish and John Cairns Sr.
Don't forget the general meeting on
Thursday night Comrades at 8 p.m. President
Jim would like to see a good attendance at
this meeting as 'Zone Commander Jack
Tufford will be present, weather permitting.
Lunch will be served after this meeting
Comrades, so please plan to attend. Hope to
see you there.
At the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.
