Legion ladies busier than ever
News seems lo be scarce this week
although there has been n lot of activity
around the Branch The Ladies Auxiliary
have been as busy as ever, maybe even more
so than is usual this time of year. with three
and four banquets a week Their dedication
and capacity for work leave nothing to be
desired They outwork Legion men from week
to week although I have noticed some oft he
male members lending a hand. which I am
sure the ladies appreciate
The Bingos That the entertainment commit•
tee are sponsonng have been well patronized
by the public and members The final Bingo
will be held next week. December 18 The
rearming night. 11ecetuber 17. the mixed
euchre is scheduled with turkeys as prizes.

The New Year's eve tickets are now
available at the Branch. The format is the
same as other years with a social hour first,
dinner at 8 p.m, and dancing after.
There are only three weeks left in the Early
Bind campaign Comrades so please get down
and pay your dues orsend a cheque to Al. We
will forward your receipt. To date about 70
per cent are paid.
We have quite.a few members who spend
the winters in Florida now. You might be
interested to'know, as of Sunday we now have
six inches of snow
Al the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.

eggs. 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla. salt. 3
or 4 amused cookie sheets

1 Sepanite the whites from the yokes of the
eggs and place them in a bowl. This is
sometimes a hit tricky. so perhaps an adult
a nuld be willing to help the first time. 2. Beat
the whites and a pinch of salt until they are
fairly stiff, forming peaks that stand by
Ihenisefves 3 Slowly add the sugar while
continuing to beat. 4. Stir In 1 teaspoon of
vanilla 5 Drop one-third of the hatter. a
heaping teaspoon at a time, onto a greased
crinkle sheet. B Remove half of the remaining
hatter to another howl. To the first half add
and stir in a few drops of green food coloring.
Tn the other howl stir in a few drops of red
fond coloring 7 Place these 2 bowls -full of
halter onto the cookie sheets In the same way
as the first 8 Bake for about one-half hour at
:100 degrees.
