Mitchell visited one day last week with
Hullett accepts fuel tender
Al the regular meeting of Hullett Town-
ship Council a motion was passed to accept
the tender of United Co -Op to supply fuel for
the township at a cost of 35,9 per litre diesel
fuel, 35.9 per litre regular gas and 22.9 per
litre furnace fuel.
Council also voted to have the drainage
superintendent work with the county en-
gineeron the Ball Drain, Branch B., repairing
the bels and catch basin on County Road.
The clerk will be arranging a meeting with
the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ducks
Unlimited to discuss flooding problems at
'Pony Fidoms. The damage to crops, caused
by the ducks and geese, will also be
discussed, possibly at the January or
February meeting.

men's Institute, was played Thursday eve-
ning in the Walton Hall. There were eight
tables in play.

monthly euchre is scheduled for Thursday,
January 29.
CHURCH NEWS
First Sunday of Advent was observed at
Duff's United Church Sunday when Rev.
Bonnie Lamble was assisted by her daughter,
Barbara in the lighting of the first 5dvent
candle. In the children's story they were
reminded of this special day in the church, it
is the first day of the New Year in the church,
color for advent is purple and lighting the first
candle means Peace to the world. The Junior
Choir sang an opening number.
A special duet was sung by Graeme Craig
and his daughter Shannon. Serving Com-
munion was Bruce Clark, Ken McDonald,
Ray Huether, Viola Kirkby, Margaret Craig,
Barry Hoegy and Graeme Craig.
Greeting at the door were Don and Marilyn
McDonald. Organist was Margery Huether
and offering was received by Allan Searle,
