Council also voted to have the drainage superintendent work with the county en- gineeron the Ball Drain, Branch B., repairing the bels and catch basin on County Road. The clerk will be arranging a meeting with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ducks Unlimited to discuss flooding problems at 'Pony Fidoms. The next monthly euchre is scheduled for Thursday, January 29. CHURCH NEWS First Sunday of Advent was observed at Duff's United Church Sunday when Rev. Bonnie Lamble was assisted by her daughter, Barbara in the lighting of the first 5dvent candle. In the children's story they were reminded of this special day in the church, it is the first day of the New Year in the church, color for advent is purple and lighting the first candle means Peace to the world. The Junior Choir sang an opening number. A special duet was sung by Graeme Craig and his daughter Shannon. Serving Com- munion was Bruce Clark, Ken McDonald, Ray Huether, Viola Kirkby, Margaret Craig, Barry Hoegy and Graeme Craig. Greeting at the door were Don and Marilyn McDonald.
