to get a shot on net. Perth, needless to say
shared that dubious distinction with Junior

MENS BROOM BALI.
EASY RIDERS 4 DUMPERS 3
This game evolved in much the same way
the meeting between Commercial and
)ueens did in the ladies division. Both teams
took tams in putting on pressure then
retreating into a turtle -like defensive shell,
Easy Riders overcame a 3-2 first half deficit to
score a pair of early last frame scores to edge
the Dumpers by a 4-3 count last Thursday.
Neither club was impressive in the chippy,
, rugged outing. It was an evening that saw the
officiating qualify for Ripley's believe it or not
as a number of calls bordered on the bizarre,
Ed Van Miltenburg had a couple for the
triumphant Easy Riders.
Singles went' to Joe Vink and Roger
Morrison.
Replying for the Dumpers were Frank
Verberne, Bob Henderson and Tom Burke.
GRADS 4 KNIGHTS t
In somewhat of a shocker, the Grads
out -muscled Kinkora Knights 4-1 last Thurs-
day. The Knights had shown signs of moving
into the upper echelons of the men's league
but got their collective butts booted in this
match. There must have been a full moon
shining this night because it was yet another
gain in which a pile of stupid penalties
knocked things to a painfully slow pace.
The Grads, who are starting to raise some
eyebrows, got scores from Rick Archambault,
Henry W ydeven, Craig Kerslake and Larry
Plaetzer.
Larry Vink managed the lone Knight effort.
M ITCH ELL 3 PAR9tLINE 1
The Mustangs rebounded nicely from a 7-1
hammering at the hands of C.H. Express to
whip Parrline 3-1.
Dave Leonhardt, Mike Kelly and Robert
Anderson had the magic touch around the
net while a mysterious stranger' was the
marksmen for a less than magical Parrline
Panthers outfit.
The ref, you'll understand, had number 19
score the losers lone goal but, egad, there
was no 19 in the Panther's lineup.

Novice dub wins away game
Wednesday, November 19, Seaforth Nov-
ice Hockey Club travelled to Blyth, for their
firs) away game. What a game. Seaforth
showed that home ice is not always an
advantage.
After an 8-0 loss to Blyth three weeks ago in
exhibition action, the young Novice team
claimed the 4-3 win over Blyth Wednesday.
The first period was scoreless. Not until
only five minutes left in the second period did
Jason Henderson think he should get things
rolling, with an unassisted goal. But not half a
minute later Blyth tied the score on a goal by
Jon Collins. Jason Henderson scored a
second goal. assisted by Mark McNichol with
only one minute left in the second.
It must have been too much of a rest, the
fans thought, because after the flooding of
the ice between second and third periods,
Seaforth lost their get-up-and-go.
Blyth came back in the third with two quick
goals by Brian McNichol and Henry Bos to go
ahead 3-2; but Seaforth's captain Boyd
Devereaux just had to help his team hold onto
this game with a goal assisted by Mike Vock
and Steve Mclnafly. Once Boyd gets going
it's hard for anyone to slow him down; he
finished the 4-3 win over Blyth with an
unassisted goal.
Next week the boys travel to Brussels, for
the fourth scheduled game. The team has two
wins and one tie under their sticks.
Atoms down two opponents
Seaforth Atoms travelled to Milverton
November 17 and defeated Milverton 8-3.
Scoring for Seaforth were: Joe Murray with
two goals and one assist, Mike Watt with two
goals and one assist, Mike Devereaux with
one goal and one assist, Mike W eberwith two
goals and three assists, Mike Coyne with one
goal and Kenny Hildebrand with one goal.
Assists also went to Jonathon Hugill, Wayne
Schoonderwoerd, Brad Moore and Justin
Rodney.
Oil November 22 Hensall travelled to
Seaforth and were defeated 11-0. Scoring for
Seaforth were: Mike Watt with three goals
and one assist, Wayne Schoonderwoerd with
one goal and three assists, Mike Devereaux
with two goals. Mike Moylan with two goals,
Joe Murray with two goals and two assists
and Steve H icknell with one goal. Assists also
went to goalie John Moylan and Brad Moore.
Tweens lose first game
Seaforth Tween ringette lost their first
game of the season on home ice this past
Sunday. They were defeated 7-2 by Goderich.
Andrea Gingerich, in net, showed much
improvement as Goderich outshot the Sea -
forth team. Tracy Fortune counted the two
goals for Seaforth with one assist going to Jill
Betties. All of the girls saw plenty of ice as
only 11 were signed on the sheet. They have a
small team this year with only 12 players,
plus one Petite to help them out when short.
Two experienced and strong defence were
missing. The next game is in Seaforth
Sunday, November 30 at 6 p.m.

shady character that can score goals when he
isn't even playing? Did Parrline really score
at all? Did they even play? It' this was

questions. Anyway, this is broomball? not
television...I think!
C.H. EMPRESS 13 EGMONDVILLE 0
It was like Dracula looming menacingly
over the terrified nymph. One quick chomp
on the neck and the rest is history. C.H.
Express made like the fanged fable and when
it was all over, they had gorged on
Egmondville by a satiated score of 13-0. And
they didn't get their capes dirty or raise a
sweat in the process.
Silver bullets, garlic and wooden stakes
wouldn't have helped Egmondville ward off
this attack.
Dale Kennedy and Brett Finlayson each
had the hat trick for the Express.
Two goal evenings -went to John Cairns and
Bill Meyers.
Also nibbling into the score sheet with
single shots were Marc Robinet, Jim Nash
and Murray Houston.
JUNIOR FARMERS 3 RAIDERS 2
You'll never believe this but there were a
lot of penalties in this game,
The league's two weakest franchises
_lopped into the ring and Junior Farmers
outhit the Raiders for a narrow 3-2 count.
No love lost here. No siree, I guess you
could say the Junior Farmers won ugly.
They got a two goal performance from
Ralph Nivens and another marker from
Martin W ynja.
The Raiders Jeff Campbell and Jack
Holmes answered back.
CHISELHURST 2 W LNTHROP 0
Although never fielding a full compliment
of runners, Chiselhurst manages to surprise
in league play. They zapped W inthrop 2-0 in a
contest that was a sure fire cure for
insomniacs the world over.
Never exciting, never panicking and never
quitting could be. Chiselhurst's motto.
The steady, if unspectacular club ground
out the victory over a Winthrop side that has
slipped in recent weeks.
Al W ynja and Rob Taylor did the damage
for the winning Chiselhurst organization.
I.D.A. 8 CHISELHURST 0
Chiselhurst may be doing fine in league
play but were way out of their element in this
one. I.D.A. from Mount Forest, braved
inclement weather to trek south to Seaforth.
The tricky trip down didn't seem to have any
effect on the visitors as they nuked the locals
by an 8-0 score.
Chiselhurst must have felt like a bunch of
Dorothys caught in a spinning, roaring
tornado. The whirling dervish that is I.D.A.
totally dominated from the outset leaving one
to ponder the question.... why?
You have to give credit to both clubs for
another reason. It was a tame contest in
which one minor penalty was called and that
went to the losing side.
I.D.A. is a talented, clean group that is a
pleasure to watch and doesn't resort to the
stupid stuff. Chiselhurst, despite the thump-
ing, showed their class 'as well.
