Atom IIs finish the week with ties
Milverton started the scoring on Saturday
in Seaforth with a goal in the second period.
The Atom Its tied the game when Matt Vock
scored with a hard shot from a sharp angle,
Mike Etue assisting. Late in the second
period Milverton pulled ahead scoring two
quick goals. Strong forechecking by Mike
Etue and Matt Vock helped Dave McNairn
score Seaforth's second goal. With time
ticking away and several missed scoring
chances, Scott Jervis (assisted by Derek
Grldzak), was able to put the puck behind the
Milverton goaltender, tying the game.
Tandem goaltending by Dean Finnigan and
Adam Agar was superb for the Atom IIs in
both games. Final score :3-3.
Seaforth Atom IIs came out of this past
week with two ties.
W ednesday night the Atom IIs played
Hensall in a fast moving, well-balanced
game. Great goaltending and defensive play
kept Hensall off the scoreboard until 7:58 of
the third period. Seaforth came back with a
short-handed goal on a break -away by Derek
Gridzak at 5:16 of the third. A goal by Danny
Dalton would have put Seaforth in the lead,
however was disallowed due to a referee
mix-up. With 1:15 remaining in the third
period Hensall scored their second goal. The
clock showed 29 seconds left in the game
when Steven Van Den Henget scored from a
perfect set-up by Scott Jervis and Derek
Gridzak. Final score 2-2
