Frustrating loss for
Express broomball
THE HURON
It was a frustrating Toss for members of the
C.H. Express broomball squad who com-
peted in the Harriston Invitational Broomball
tournament over the weekend.
C.H., whose roster was severely diminish-
ed because of favorable farming conditions
on the weekend, floundered during the early
minutes of the final game, allowing two
goals.
A goal by centreman Mike Flanagan in the
second half of the game narrowed the gap
somewhat, but despite repeated opportuni-
ties
pportuneties to score, the C.H. shots failed to enter the
net and the team lost a tough 2-1 decision to
Tend -R -Flesh of Palmerston. 'fend -R -Flesh

Centenaires facing rebuilding year
The Seaforth Centenaires continue to be
plagued with the trials faced by a team going
through a rebuilding year. They lost two
games over the weekend.
BULLDOGS 5-CENTENAfftES2
On Saturday night in Mount Brydges the
Bulldogs managed to hold the Centenaires
scoreless for the first two stanzas of the game
while they themselves scored five times.
Seaforth's Jerry W right scored assisted by
Kevin Melady on a power play during the
opening seconds of the third period to give
the Centenaires their first offensive break.
Kevin Cooper, assisted by Mike Schoonder-
woerd, closed the gap a little further with six
minutes left in the game. That goal too came
out of a power play. The game ended 5-2 in
the Bulldogs' favor.
CLINTON 8 - ('ENTEN A IRES 2
A second heartbreaker came Sunday when
the Centenaires faced off against Clinton,
and lost 8-2.
Kevin Melady, assisted by Mike Schoon-
derwoerd and Mike Betties, scored the
Centenaires' first goal midway through the
first period, and also managed to tie the game
at one.
Clinton moved ahead again after 30
seconds of play in the second period, but were
brought back to a tie when Jerry Wright,
assistbd by Gerard Ryan And Bill Dale Scx red
for Seaforth. That tie disintegrated when
Clinton scored two more goals in the second
period.
Four goals in the third stanza gave the
Clinton squad an easy victory.

The Seaforth Atoms played their season
opener against Clinton Atoms but came out
the losers in a well played game. The score
was 2-0 in Clinton's favor.
Try as they might Seaforth could not put
the puck in the Clinton net. It was definitely
not because of lack of effort.
A good team effort was put forth by the
whole team. The edge lost by season opener
nerves did not dampen the spirit or hard
working effort put out by the whole team.
The Atom team this year consists of John
Moylan, Mike Moylan, Justin Rodney, Brad
Moore, Jeff Flannigan. Jonathon Hugill,
Wayne Schoonderwoerd, Jeff Ryan, Pat
