An English paper recently offered a
prize of $25 for the best definition of
Socialism. The prize was won by a
Scotchman, whose definition was as fol.
lows: What Socialism means is that
tbe lands, the mines, the machinery and
all instruments incidental to the present
methods of capitalist production, instead
of being owned, controlled and worked
in the interest of the capitalist and land-
lord class, should by legal enactment,
become collective property controlled
and worked by and in the iuterest of the

About two weeks since an old gentle-
man named McIntyre, who resides in
Ashfield, was walking along the stoop
of the house, with two kittens playing
around his feet, a white owl swooped
down and seized one of the kittens. Mr.
McIntyre at once attacked the bird and
catching one wing, the owl dropped the
kitten, which was dead, and fastened its
talons in one of Mr, McIntyre's legs.
The old gentleman shouted, and a son
was quickly on hand and killed the bird,
and it is said his speedy arrival saved
his father from serious injury, as the
owl measured 48 inches from wing to
wing.

NO DIFFERENCE.
No distinction is made as to the kind
of Piles that Dr. Leonhardt's Hem-Rold
cures.
The names Internal, External, Bleed-
ing, Blind, Itching. Suppurating, etc.,
are simply names of the different stages
thtough which every case will pass if it
continues long enough.
Piles are caused by congestion or stag -
neaten of blood in the lower bowel, and
it takes an internal remedy to remove
the cause.
Dr. Leonhardt's Hein-Roid is a tablet
taken internally.
It is a permanent cure and no case of
piles has ever been found it failed to cure.
