plants. Mr. Veldhuis said there is never too
much light for cactus. Cactus store water and
to much will cause them to explode. He
advised not to water cactus in winter as
growth will be very weak as winter light is not
good enough. Cactus can be put in a box and
stored in a closet till spring while you go to
Florida. Once watering is begun in spring you
should get a good crop of flowers. However
succulents cannot take this treatment. Mr.
Veldhuis had a large selection of plants he
offered for sale at the end of the meeting.
The next meeting will be held at the school
on November 12 and will begin with a potluck
supper at 6:30. The annual meeting will
follow. Committee heads are reminded to
bring their reports at this time.
