LINTON — M ARCUSSEN
Valerie Linton and Steen Marcubsen were
married Saturday, May 24, 1986 at the Main
Street United Church in Mitchell by the
Reverend Don Pletsch. The bride is the
daughter of Dave and Shirley Linton of RR 5
M itchell and the groom is the son of Aage and
Paula Mareussen of Seaforth, Matron of
honour was Terri Brown of London, friend of
the bride and bridesmaids were Pia Marcus -
sen of Stratford, sister of the groom; Cindy
Linton of London, sister of the bride; Lorie
Lepelaars of RR 5, Mitchell, sister of the
bride and Marie Davis of London; friend of
the bride. The flower girl was Pamela Linton
of RR 3, Mitchell, niece of the bride. Best
man was Brad Rice of London, friend of the
groom and guests were ushered by Sten
M arcussen of Toronto, brother of the groom,
Brad Linton of RR 5, Mitchell, brother of the
bride and Chuck Visscher of L.ucan, friend of
the groom. Ringbearer was Jason Lepelaars
of RR 5, Mitchell, nephew of the bride.
Organist Ernest Harley of Mitchell played for
the processional and the recessional. Solos
were sung by Mary Coyne, accompanied by
Thomas Burke. Following a reception at the
Mitchell Community Centre, the couple

FAMILY
Hectic week et Manor
Seatortu 'Waal' tare Facility had a hectic
week.
On Wednesday Rev, Gordon Simmons held
holy communion with residents for Thanks-
giving. Eva Lambert accompanied on the
piano for hymns.
On Thursday morning exercises with music
were held for fun and fitness. In the afternoon
ladies cut foam and the men played euchre.
On Friday afternoon bingo was played.
On Sunday afternoon Pat Ryan and Jackie
Hacho attended the funeral service in Blyth
for Harvey Brown a former resident. Seaforth
Health Care Facility extend their sympathy to
son John, wife and family.
PERSONALS
Harold Connell is a new resident at the
Seaforth Health Care Facility and is wel-
comed to our facility. Helen Connell visited
him.
Pat Ryan was out to mass with his sister
Kathleen then taken for lunch.
Mabel Handy had many visitors over the
past week including Frieda Whittaker of
Tlramesford Isabel and Wally Porter of
Embro, niece Ethel Locker of Sarnia,
stepdaughter Elizabeth Johns of News
Brunswick and Joe Robbin of Hensall.
Mary Lamont visited Kelly Lamont on his
80th birthday and donated a cake for the
residents' supper.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Nicholson were iri to
visit his mother Cassie Nicholson.
Isabel Scott was in to visit husband Bill
Scott.
Carol Geddes had her husband Charlie
Geddes and son Doug and daughter Sheila
Schenck and also aunt Isabel Rhiel of
Seaforth in to visit.
On Sunday afternoon Gladys Ruston went
to Stratford to see her new granddaughter.
AUSTIN: Bruce and Jane are pleased to
announce the arrival of their daughter,
Shealynn Jane, on September 27. 1986. A
sister for Shannon and David.

Ridgetown are pleased to announce the safe
arrival of their daughter Laura Evelyn, born
at Chatham General Hospital, September27,
1986 weighing 8 lbs. 212 ozs. A sister for
Dennis Proud grandparents are John and
Pearl Henderson, Sauble Beach and Fergus
and Teresa Feeney. Dublin. Great grand-
father is Ivy Henderson of Toronto.
VANDENDOOL: Bert, Joan and Andrea are
pleased to announce the safe arrival of their
new twin girls, Laurie Ellyn weighing 7 lbs. 6
ozs. and Kelly Ann Sarah weighing 5 lbs. 5
oz. They were born Wednesday, Septei'nber
24 at St. Joseph's Hospital. London. Proud
grandparents are Jim and Delores Howatt of
Londeshoro and A rie and Lena Vandendool of
Clinton Happy great grandmother is Pearl
McNall of Clinton.
Polio group meets
Donna Farley and husband of Toronto were
in to visit her father Dr, Sadlier.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stewart were in to see
13i11 Scott.
Amy Gethke of Mitchell'vi6ited her father
Elle Dow.
Ilelen Morris is a patient in Seaforth
Hospital and a speedy recovery Is extended to
her.
Len Bloomfield is back at the facility from
Seaforth Hospital.

Dorothy and Hugh Bennett, of RR 6,
Goderich, celebrated their 45th wedding
anniversary with a family dinner at their
home on October 4, 1986.
Nearly 30 people gathered to hear Shirley
Teolis of the Ontario Mardh of Dimes give a
brief and interesting history of polio at the
first meeting Of the Grey -Bruce -Huron
Post -Polio Association.
That meeting was held at the Hanover and
District Hospital on September 6.
Ms. Teolis discussed the problems en-
countered by post -polios as they age and said
extreme fatigue and joint and muscle ache
seem to be the most common symptoms,
along with increasing difficulty in doing
day-to-day activities. These symptoms, while
not life-threatening, are distressing and
inconvenient.
The second meeting will be held in the
hoard room of Hanover and District Hospital
October 18 at 1 p.m. Membership is open to
any interested persons. if transportation or
more information is required, please phone
M. De Jong 527-0418 in the evenings.
