A "PORTON FIRE"
Seaforth's Fire Brigade will soon be famous
As 4s now our All Girl Band
We have the finest volunteers,
Rom here to Newfoundland.
And If you don't believe me •
Sometime down here just call,
And ask our town officials,
They're at your beck and will.
They'll talk about the carelessness,
That results In many a fire,
When parents leave their kids alone,
And no sitter do they hire.
They'll talk about matches left around,
For little hands to reach,
And of many other safety rules,
Which we neglect to teach.
When they talk of those who smoke in bed,
And sometimes fall asleep,
They'll tell you such a woeful tale,
It will almost make you weep.
They won't tell you any fiction,
Every word will be the truth,
That each of us must remember,
That no home is all fire proof.
Yes, Seaforth volunteers have done their best
To protect your home and mine,
By being "Johnny on the Spot."
W hen the phone rings anytime.
Just call 1100 day or night,
Don't hesitate or stall,
But best of all obey the rules, /
Of "GOOD HOUSEKEEPING"
That's all'

Nine times out of ten you
have a choice. There are precautions
you can take around the home, in your place of
business,,on the farm, to prevent tragic fires from
ever starting. Faulty wiring, careless cigarette
smoking habits, cluttered areas are just some of the
ways to Invite disaster, and once a fire takes hold,
the destruction to lives and property can be im-
measurable. Act now, and avoid a tragedy later on.
Observe good fire safety practices and learn
the correct procedures to take In the event
of a fire. Keep alert to the dangers and
choose to fight fires before they start.
