HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1986-10-01, Page 131 Hullett, Blyth councils discueis waste Members of the Village of Blyth Council were in attendance at a special meetingof Hullett Township Council, for a oint discussion on the Popp property and Blyth-Hullett waste disposal site, on Sep- tember 16, Hullett Council authorized Blyth Council to look into getting the house demolished on the Popp property. 'Also, they authorized them to check on the well on the property, and if it is a dug well, to have it filled in and to have die hydro service removed. Council also instructed Blyth Council to seek full environment Impairment Coverage for both Blyth and Hullett's share of the landfill site. Earlier this month, at their regular meeting on September 2, council held a court of revision, and opened tenders for the biorbes Municipal Drain. Council accepted the tender of Bayline Drainage, at a cost of $5,639.21. A by -taw to impose special annual drainage rates upon land in respect of which money is borrowed under the Tile Drainage Act 1971, in the amount of $16,300 was passed. A by-law to provide for a drainage works in the township and for borrowing on the credit of the municipality in the amount of $31,500 for completing the works was also passed. Walton WI hold successful lunch Walton Correspondent MRS. ALLAN McCALL 887-6677 The W alton W ,1. held a very successful luncheon at the hall last Wednesday. The next luncheon is scheduled for October 15, the same day as our next Institute meeting. Sunday afternoon the Walton Brewers played a double header with the Shakespeare intermediate men, Walton winning the South Perth League B. Final in the second game 4-0, All teams have completed their games except the W alton Pee W ee boys who are now in the final tri -county playhoffs, winning over Belmore 3-2 Sunday evening. The next game was scheduled for Monday night in Belmore, weather permitting. Don and Pat Nolan, coaches for the W alton Squirts entertained the boys' team when they took them to Vanastra for a swim and later to a restaurant for a treat ending a most enjoyable evening. Plans are being made for the Huron County Fall Rally to be held at the Walton Community Hall with registration at 9:30 a.m. Walton W .I. to serve the noon meal. Adeline Stoskoph of RR 2 Mitchell spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Regele at RR 1, Dublin. While there they visited with Clarence Regeie at Seaforth and with Annie Hoegy at Seaforth Community Hospital. Gordon Byers of Mitchell visited his mother, Helen Byers at Seaforth.
