The Kippen East Women's Institute met
September 17 at the home of Mrs. McAllister
of Bayfield. Before darkness fell members
toured the herb garden with Mrs. McAllister
as their guide and were able to sample and
learn the many uses of the herbs.
Mrs. McAllister was thanked by Mona
Alderdice and presented with a gift of
appreciation. Helen MacLean read a poem
and a moment of silence followed in memory
of the late Grace Pepper. A 20 cent fine was
charged to five members who failed to wear
their institute pin.
The County Rally is to be held in Walton on
October 6 and the area convention is to be
held in London October 16 and 17. Grace
