'The September meeting of the Catholic
Women's League was held on Monday,
September 8 in the parish hall with 19
members present.
Angelina Swart, president, opened. Luella
Murphy read the minutes and Colleen
Fischer gave the treasurer's report.
Correspondence included several thank
you cards and an invitation from the Kinkora
W .I. to attend their bazaar on September
at 8 p.m. An invitation was also received
f mthe St. Brigid's CW L, Logan to their fall
Ixazaar on W ednesday, October 1 at 8 p.m.
The meeting closed with a prayer for Pope
John Paul II followed by a social hour.

Pte. R. John Ryan, son of Ron and Mary
Ryan of St. Columban, left on Friday,
September 12 for Cornwallis, Nova Scotia to
begin his 10 -week basic training course in the
Canadian Armed Forces. Following the basic
training. course John will be going to
