In the Thro-The- ®raw raises over $4,000 Early estimates indicate the annual Sea- Glen McClure was the winner of the $150 forth Lions Club Elimination Draw, held fourth prize and Doris Hugill, of Seaforth won Saturday night at the Seaforth and District the$125 fifth prize. Prizes of $25 to $100 were Community Centres raised between $4,000 awarded to 15 other winners. and $5,000. The money will be used to fund Tickets for next year's draw, to be held the club's community works projects, said September 12, 1987, will be available from Lions' spokesman Doug Elliott. Lions Club ticket sellers as of September 15, Mr. Elliott said roughly 500 people 1986. attended the dinner and about 600 attended the dance, at which the draws were made. Members of the Seaforth Ladies Aid Lyle Haney, of Seaforth, possessor of the travelled to Vanastra to see crafts made by last ticket drawn during the evening was the Orval Ternan. The trip was part of their first prize winner of $2,500. Merton Keys, of September meeting. the Seaforth area won the $400 second prize. Following the outing the members return - Bruce W ilbee, of Seaforth donated his $200 ed to the church to hold a short business third prize win back to the Lions Club Park meeting. Plans were completed for the Open House at the Manse on Sunday, September GRADUATES LISA HOORNAERT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Roger Hoornaert recently graduated; from Westervelt Business College with a diploma in Computer Programming. She has now accepted a position with Canada Trust in London. Pat Ryan wins bowling award Mary Finlayson presented a trophy to residents of the Seaforth Health Care Facility who bowled during the year. Pat Ryan was the high single winner with 255 and Harold Walsh finished with 116. Lucy Bezzo and Irene Omand were high average winners. The residents held their bowling banquet at the Queen's Hotel Wednesday. Happy Citizens meet The regular meeting of the Seaforth Happy Citizens No. 865 was held in the Legion Hall September 4 with a potluck dinner with 44 present. During a brief business period a minute's silence was observed for former members Grace Pepper and Lillian Malanluk. The Christmas meeting will start with a turkey dinner at noon on December 4 in the Legion Hall;with the Legion ladies catering. A bus trip is being arranged for December 11 to go to the Christmas show of the Geritel Follies. On November 6 there is a seminar 017 "Safety for Seniors" and four ladies are going with one of the town policeman to St. Monies. Beatrice Storey received her Past Presi- dent's Jewel.
