dining room. Further plans were also 'made
for the Centennial Service to be held on
Sunday, November 16 when all the f'or'mer
ministers will be back to assist with the
service. Rev. W ilbur Rogers will preach, and
assisting will be Rev's, Currie W inlaw,,.
Harold Currie and Donald Beck, Following'
the service a Centennial meal is planned and
the afternoon will be spent viewing the
antique displays, picture gallery and in
visiting. ,
Hensel) United Church was filled to
capacity Sunday for the regular morning
worship. Mr. McDonald conducted the
worship and Norma Pryde was the organist.
Elva Forrest greeted the congregation and
Bill Fuss, Ross Veal, Charlie Hay and Claire
Hoffman were the ushers. Gordon Hamilton
and Audrey Christie looked after the baby
and toddler care.
Soloist for the service was Cathy Pryde.
She also told the children's story.
During the baptismal the following child-
ren were received into the church: Jeremy
David Hewitson, son of David and Doreen
Hewitson; Ilse Anne Koehler, daughter of
Norman and Cade, Koehler; Amy Leigh
Moffatt, daughter of lush and Janet Moffatt;

During the service the Christian Education
Staff were installed. In the Sunday Church
School, Superintendent Glen Hayter; Trea-
surer, Bill Stebbins; Teachers: Nursery, Joan

Reid; Kindergarten: Linda Alexander and
Debbie Collins; Primary: Tim Brock and

COM M IVTEE MEETS
The Centennial Committee of the United
Church met this past week and completed
further plans for Centennial activities this
fall. Plans were completed for the Open
House at the Manse on Sunday, September
GRADUATES
LISA HOORNAERT, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs, Roger Hoornaert recently graduated;
from Westervelt Business College with a
diploma in Computer Programming. She has
now accepted a position with Canada Trust in
London.
Pat Ryan wins bowling award
Mary Finlayson presented a trophy to
residents of the Seaforth Health Care Facility
who bowled during the year. Pat Ryan was
the high single winner with 255 and Harold
Walsh finished with 116. Lucy Bezzo and
Irene Omand were high average winners.
The residents held their bowling banquet at
the Queen's Hotel Wednesday.
Also during the week SHCF residents
enjoyed some Laurel and Hardy films;
partook in a communion service with
Reverend Simmons; participated in exercises
with Drusilla Leitch as their instructor; and
travelled to Blyth to see the Thresher
Reunion.

Happy Citizens meet
The regular meeting of the Seaforth Happy
Citizens No. 865 was held in the Legion Hall
September 4 with a potluck dinner with 44
present.
During a brief business period a minute's
silence was observed for former members
Grace Pepper and Lillian Malanluk.
The Christmas meeting will start with a
turkey dinner at noon on December 4 in the
Legion Hall;with the Legion ladies catering.
A bus trip is being arranged for December
11 to go to the Christmas show of the Geritel
Follies.
On November 6 there is a seminar 017
"Safety for Seniors" and four ladies are
going with one of the town policeman to St.
Monies.
