Anniversary tourney
A tournament commemorating .the 55th
anniversary of the Seaforth Lawnbowlin
Club was held Wednesday at the Seafo
greens,
Seventy-two teams of two competed in" the
double draw tournament for an estimated
$1,400 to $1,500 worth of prizes. BoWlets_
came from Preston, Goderich, Mitchell;.
Sarna, St. Marys, Lucknow, Clinton, Kirch
ener,' Blyth, Owen Sound, Exeter and
Seaforth.
The top winner was Vin Hoffman and
partner from London.
Seaforth winners with three games were:
Betty and Fined Tilley and Neil and Edna Bell.
Two game winners were Art and Mary
F5nlayson and Bill Brown and Carol Carter.
The Seaforth lawnbowling club has held
oommemorative tournaments for the last five
years, ever since the one celebrating its 50th
anniversary turned out a success.
"People responded to it so well that we
decided to canny, on with it and make it an
annual event, ' said lawnbowling club
president, Tom Phillips.
In other lawnbowling action this week Fred
and Betty Tilley and Edna and Neil Bell were
second in Atwood; Mary and Art Finlayson
were first and Neil and Edna Bell were second
in the married couples tournament and led
and Betty Tilley were second and Mary and
Art Finlayson third in Clinton, while Edna
Bell and Eric Matzold, Jean Lunn and Clare
Reith, Thehne Coombs and Dave Colelough
were two game winners.

to Huron County. He has a cottage north of
Goderich on Lake Huron where he has spent'a
significant amount of vacation time over
many years.
Mr. Rowland was recruited because Mr.
R.J. McCall recently accepted the position of
Director of Education with the Timiskaming
Board of Education. Paul Carroll, of Seaforth,
formerly responsible for Student Services, is
replacing Mr. McCall as Superintendent of
Operations.
