Visitors at the Hubley-Regele home in Seaforth Sunday were Jim, Lorna and Jenna I, Barnes of Parkhill, David, Barbara and Tasha Isaac of Exeter, Bob, Elaine and Robert England and Karen Foran of Huron Park, Brenda Glanville and friend from Parkhill and Dennis England, Shirley and Stanley Presz- catorof Crediton and on Monday Betty, Chad and Janice McCallum of R.R. 1, Walton. Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCallum spent the past two weeks at their cottage at the Manitoulin Island and visiting them were Joyce and W ayne�mna of Re d yfiel, Norman Hubanda ley g f Seaforth, Paul, Dianne, Cindy, Colleen, and Kenny McCallum of R.R. 1, Walton, Kelly, Sharon, and family of Lhndesboro and Mable Willis of Brussels. Mr. and Mrs, Stanley Preszcator of Crediton spent a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCallum of R.R. 1, Walton. Idella Regele and Norman Hubley of Seaforth visited with Zoe Farrow at Massey and with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Stairs and Eric at Sudbury last week. Genie Be uerman of R.R. 1, Dublin is a patient in Victoria Hospital London. W e wish her a speedy recovery. Recent visitors with Helen Byers at Seaforth were Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Byers of Kitchener and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Dale of R.R. Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hinz and Mrs. Mary Maloney of Mitchell. The Glanville reunion was held on Sunday at lions Park in Seaforth with a . good D,.nald (decease ) attendance. ALLAN McCALL 887-6677 A community shower was held for Nanci Bennett, bride elect of this month. The shower was held in the basement of Duff's United Church on Wednesday. Sherry Hoegyresented a prelude of piano music as friends, neighbors and relatives arrived. Maxine Houston was in charge of names written on a Cameo cloth. Karen Hoegy welcomed everyone and announced the program. Piano solos were given by Shannon Craig and Andrea Gingerich. Margaret Craig gave a comical reading. Marie McGavin led in a lively sing -song accompanied by Marjorie Hum- phries at the piano. The guests of honor were called to the front and gifts were brought out by Sharon Godkin, Shannon Craig, Andrea and Lisa Gingerich, Nanci was assisted by her mother, Margaret Bennett, the groom's mother, Mrs. Du- crarme and Mrs. McArter. The address had been read by Nancy (Schade)Denham. Nanci made a fitting reply and invited everyone to their reception this Friday evening in .Brussels. LOCAL BRIEFS Isabelle Shortreed enjoyed a few days last week holidaying with Bill and Louise Smith at their cottage at Amberley. Bobbi Shortreed is holidaying this week at the Presbyterian Church camp near Kintail. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Billing, Cambridge visited on the weekend with their daughter Carol Gamble. Dave and girls took in the air show at the park on Saturday afternoon, Visiting with Norma Steele recently was Linda Leeming of Stratford. Norma Leeming enjoyed a tour of the McIntosh Gallery at the University of W estern Ontario, London and other places of interest. AIRSHOW The Walton Area Sports Club sponsored a splendid air show on Saturday at the Walton Ball Park. Several air -controlled aircraft were on display and were put into the air. The announcer gave out the different kinds of planes run by different owners. He said itis a happy sport starting back in the early 30s. These men belong to a group that can put on shows like this, it is hoping to make this an annual event. MONTHLY DRAW The July meeting of the Walton Area Sports Club was held when plans were made for the Ladies slo-pitch tournament in Walton this weekend. Later in the afternoon over 50 people attended a barbecue at their home. Guests were present from Belwood, Clinton, Hearst, Kenora, Guelph, Stratford, Stoney Creek, Paris. Seaforth, Sebringville, Dungannon, Lucknow and the Walton area. Edgar reunion held in Belgrave Centre Belgrave Corespondent MRS. LEW IS STONEHOUSE 887-9487 The 37th annual Edgar reunion was held Sunday at the Belgrave Community Centre. Approximately 90 relatives were present. Mr. and Mrs. David Ireland of Teeswater were in charge of the sports which were enjoyed by both young and old. William Henderson of L cknow gave Grandpa Edgar's blessing and all sat down for a pot luck supper. President, Alvin Mundell of Gorrie held a short business meeting. Secretary -treasurer. Mrs. George Gibson, of W Ingham read the minutes of the last reunion. Alvin Mundell asked for a moment's silence to be observed for those who had passed on this past year: Mrs. Elmer Potter of HoimesviAe and Charles Johnston of Blyth. The couple coming the longest distance were Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Edgar of Sault Ste. Marie. The 1987 reunion will be held July 12 at the Belgrave Community Centre. Dryden have been holidaying with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pletch. A family slathering was held at the trailer home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pletch and family at Pine Lake. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Max Pletch and girls of Dryden, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pietch. W Ingham, Ruth Ann Pletch and Joe Russel. Guelph, David Pletch, Kincardine, Melanie Scott, Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Pletch and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pletch all of Belgrave. Mr. and Mrs. John Spivey of Ingersoll attended the Procter reunion on Sunday at the Women's Institute Hall, Belgrave. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Desmond of Ridge - town visited their cousin Olive Bolt on Tuesday. PROCTER REUNION The 55th annual Procter reunion was held on Sunday, July 13 in the Belgrave Institute Hell with an attendance of 72. followedA social afternoon was enjoyed, by a lunch and games for the children. President, Don Procter, conducted a short business meeting. Next year's president will be Faulk Procter and Mrs. Don Procter will be the secretary and treasurer.
