New plays rehearsed at Blyth
W ith the opening of the first two plays at
the -Blyth Festival (Another Season's Promise
- Sinagnificent', and Drift - `lyrical'),
rehearsals now begin on the second batch of
plays.
Clone to Glory by Suzanne Finlay, the

season. •
Rod Beattie portrays the story of one man's
attempt to embrace a less complicated world.
When captain of industry, Walt Wingfield,
trades his pinstripe suit for overalls and
retreats to a hundred acre Tann, the residents
of Persephone Township raise their eye-
brows. Weekend farmers are a common
enough sight, but this man seems to think he
can actually make a living with a broken down
racehorse and a single furrow plough.
Mr. Beattie astonishingly transforms him-
self from one character to in
eccentrics from the fictional rural to!
wn of
Larkspur.
Mr. Beattie is fast gaining wide recognition
for his adept transformations, from one
