W}1O ARE VOLUNTEERS? Under most
circumstances, volunteers may be described
as those individuals who donate their time,
knowledge, and abilities without expectation
of salary orother financial consideration,
Existing amongeach segment of society,
volunteers represent all walks of life. They
may be: parents, program participants,
educators, hobby enthusiasts, former recrea-
tors, retired persons, activity .specialists,
college or university students, professionals
from every field, etc. Almost every person
residing in a community possesses skills,
knowledge and interests which can be a
benefit to the leisure service program. There
is no limitation as to the source of volunteer
personnel nor the types and backgrounds of
individuals who can make positive contribu-
tions to the program. Without such volun-
teers, programs get cancelled. Let's not see
that happen.
