CHARLES MACKAY
Charles MacKay, a former reeve of
Tuckersmith Township, died in Seaforth
Community Hospital on Sunday, June 29,
1986. He was 94.
Active in the municipality for many years
he was reeve in 1938. On his retirement from
farming he moved to Seaforth, where for
several years he was a resident of the
Kilbarchan Nursir-g Home.
A member of First Presbyterian Church he
served on the session of the church for 43
years, A long time liberal he was chairman of
the township organization for a number of
years.
Mr. MacKay is survived by two daughters,
Doris (Mrs. W .D. Wilson) of Brucefield and
Irene (Mrs. Mel Glanville) of London. Also
surviving is a daughter-in-law, Beulah
MacKay; a brother Oliver, of Seaforth;
grandchildren Brian and Linda Wilson and
great-grandchildren, Lisa and Curtis of
Seaforth.
Mr. MacKay was predeceased by his wife,
the former Catherine Clark; one son Jack,
three sisters, Margaret, Esther and Bessie
and two brothers, Ross and Colin,
The family received friends at the W hit-
ney-Ribey Funeral Home and a funeral
service was held Tuesday. Interment Mait-
landbank Cemetery, Seaforth.
DONALD CHARLES JOHNSTON
Donald Charles Johnston, of Blyth, died
Saturday, June 21, 1986 at the W ingham and
District Hospital. He was 75.
Born in Huron Township, Bruce County,
the son of the late William Johnston and
Jessie Baird, Mr. Johnston was educated at
SS No. 13 in Huron Township, near Ripley.
He was a fanner in his early years and as a
flour miller for 50 years from 1928-1978.
In 1928 he moved to Wingham, and in 1940
to Brantford. He was a member of the Blyth
United Church, the Triple V Class, W ingham
years.

He is survived by his wife, the former
W innifred Alive Edgar, and two daughters,
Marilyn (Mrs. Don Craig) of 11112, Blyth and
Nancy (Mrs, Ed Daer) of RR 5, W Ingham.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marion
Calvert of Paris and Verna (Mrs. John Evans)
of Sarnia, and five grandchildren.
Mr. Johnston was predeceased by two
brothers, James and William.

Friends and relatives were from Toronto.

burg, Auburn, Brigden and Blyth.
BERTHA M. HARDING
Bertha M, (Grieve) Harding died Tut day,
June 3, 1986 at St, Joseph's Hospital in
Guelph. She was 76.
She is survived by daughters Dorothy
(Mrs, William J. Stubbs), of Norwood'lAand
Gail (Mrs. Lori Tomei) of Guelph.
Also surviving are grandchildren Markd
Jeffrey Stubbs and Michael Tomei; sisters
Margaret E. Grieve, of Oakville and Evelyn
(Mrs. Fred ,Willis) of Seaforth and brother
Frank Grieve of Mount Forest.
She was predeceased by her husband
Elmore (Pug) Harding. •
Friends called at the McIntyre and Wilkie
Funeral Home In Guelph and a funeral
service was held on ,Friday, June 6 with the
Reverend Douglas . T, Sloan officiating.
Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Diabetes

Viola Jane (Morrison) Hemingway, of Grey
Township, died Thursday, June 26, 1986 at
the Stratford General Hospital, She was 79.
Mrs. Hemingway is survived by one son
Morris, She was predeceased by her husband
Bertram Brown Hemingway in 1979,
Mrs. Hemingway rested at the Brussels
Chapel of the M.I., Watts Funeral Home
where a funeral service; was held on Friday.
