' Margaret McLeod, the president, opened the meeting. Isabel Gibson gave a reading. The scripture was read by Helen Elliott and she also gave a paper. Mrs. McLeod led a discussion on prayer. The meeting closed by Isabel Adams reading another scripture. The July meeting is to be a picnic. NURSING IR BMENEWS On Sunday the Salvation Army from Wingham held the weekly church service at the Callander Nursing!.Home. Olive Dunbar had her family Donakhand Georgia visiting. Lottie McCutcheon was out to the home of Barb and George McCutcheon, Jack Hamil- ton had the Greenfield family from Mount Forest visiting with him. Howard Clark was out with Ms wife Mary Pat Somers was in' visiting with'h1s,mothen Verna Somers, Annie Engel visited with Pearl Stevenson, Hazel Proctor and Inez Cameron. Ivey Kelly had her daughter Nora Saunders with her husband to visit her. Visitors with Eva and Oliver Stewart were sons Ray and Cliff and daughters Grace and Jan, Mrs. Jones and family visited with Bessie McCutcheon. Margaret and Tom Bernard visited with Bessie McCutcheon and Mac Shaw. Dorothy Higgins attended the Bel - grave United Church Sunday School Anniver- sary and barbecue and spent the afternoon at her brother's, Mr, and Mrs. Ross Higgins. Ruth Rapson visited with Pearl Stevenson. On Monday the residents played games of cards. Bingo was played on Tuesday. Jerry Graff entertained at the piano in the evening. Michelle Blake and baby Brandon visited with their grandmother Ivttie McCutcheon on th the residents aand joined in piayingie Thynneitcoadrds, Qn Thursday, Debbie Trollope and many of the ladies baked three kinds of cookies. These cookies will be served to visitors during Nursing Home Week, Anne Smith played the piano. Friday morning Harry Gerrie was home to Wingham with his wife, Isabel Wheeler hosted a birthday party for her mother Adeline Smith's 83rd birthday on Friday. Cake was served to many neighbors, friends, residents and staff at the home. On Saturday, Mrs. D. Stevens visited with Millie McFarlane, Donald Dunbar again played the piano. Rev. Jamieson visited with the residents. Marie Burgess visited with Lillian Cox, Inez Cameron and Margaret McBrien. Harry Gerrie was out with his wife and daughter Penny. Belgrave Correspondent MRS. LEW IS pTONEIIOUSE B879487 Thursday was the day Mr. Medd held his annual and possibly his last, grade 3 class party at the East W a*anosh Public School. Mr. Medd will be leaving the community after this year. The students enjoyed many games after school, then at 6 p.m. the parents joined the party for a barbecue. After everyone "got their fill." Mr. Medd was the master of ceremonies fora variety concert put on by the students of his class. The program certainly had variety and was enjoyed by one and a4. To close the evening Ruth Gordon read a poem which she composed reminiscing the past 16 years Mr. Medd has been teacher at East Wawanosh School. Mr. Medd was then presented with a clock which had the school logo wood burned into the surface. He was also given a framed flag which the class had signed as a keepsake of his 1986 Grade 3 class. These were presented by Margie Gordon and Jayne Vincent. Margie Gordon also presented Mr. Medd with a Good Luck Care Bear - not only expressing the wishes of the class but also symbolizing the colors of the East Wawanosh School. Mr. Medd fittingly replied expressing his sorrow at leaving the community, but expressing the pleasure in that he has made so many friends. COUNTRVFAYRE Approximately 400 people attended the Country Fayre and Cold Meat Supper on Saturday night at the Belgrave Community Centre. It was sponsored by Knox United Church, Belgrave. PEOPLE To celebrate the occasion of Ethel Wheel- er's 97th birthday, a party was held' on Monday, June 16 at the home of Mabel W heeler. Ethel Wheeler is a resident at the Woodhaven Home, Wroxeter. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wilson of Vancouver, British Columbia visited with Mabel Wheeler and their cousin Ethel Wheeler on Sunday. Mrs. Glyn Wide, Kimberly, nd Trevor of Hamilton spent the weekend ,with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson, who had been visiting with her daughter and son-in-law and family in Hamilton, returned to her home with them. Lillian Thompson and Shirley MUnrski from East Brunswick, New Jersey, ited States, spent a few days last week visiting with Ethel Wheeler and other Belgrave friends. Harold Keating returned home on Friday, June 13 after being a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
