Canadian Open viewers follow rules
The Canadian Open begins next week at
Glen Abbey in Oakville. The best profession-
al golfers in the world will tee it up in the
four day competition beginning Thursday,
June 26. Fortunately for us in the Seaforth

planning to attend the open this year there
are a few things you should be aware of. Golf
as a spectator sport is quite unique, and
knowing the ins and outs will make your day
more enjoyable.
The Canadian Open competition is four
days but things start happening long before
that as committees. organizations, corpora-
tions and thousands of volunteers prepare

"junior day." On Tuesday the pros are more
relaxed and approachable as they are not yet
in the heat of competition. They are available
to sign autographs and of course the best
place to find them is on the practise range,
practise putting green, or behind Golf House
where they go to relax. Practise rounds are
casual affairs with no set times or pairings.
This makes it more difficult to find your
favorites, but the relaxed atmosphere and
smaller galleries make up for it. In the
afternoon several pros give a free instruction-
al clinic and there are free draws for junior
prizes. Juniors (18 and under) are allowed m
free on Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a

FREE TENNIS INSTRUCTION will be
offered at the Tennis Courts on Sunday, June
22 The Ontario Tennis Association will be
sending down a qualified tennis instructor to
run a clinic. The day will be split up Into two
categories. Juniors will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
This will be age 9 to 15 years. Adults will be
from 3 to 5 p.m. Age of this group will be 16
years and older.
Let's see everyone out to enjoy the
afternoon of tennis. We will need you to
pre -register. Please call the Recreation Office
at 527-0882 and sign up today.
CANADA DAY FEST VITAS will include:
MORNING BREAKFAST from 7 a.m. to
noon it will be held at the fire hall. Cost will
he S3 50 per person, 12 and under will be S2.
MR. TRMHOUSEchildreres show will be
held at the arena at 2 p.m. Children can enjoy
fun and music and learn to draw all for one
low price of 52. per person and 58 per family.
A FIREWORKS DISPLAY will also be held
this year at the north end of the high school.
Btirlg the whole family and enjoy an evening
of fun and excitement. Car donations will be
accepted.

SUMMER PROGRAMS include, Play -
school. Playground and reader -In -Training.
You care enjoy a sumfner of games, trips and
crafts. All programs start on July 7 and run
for seven weeks with Leader -ii -Training
running for eight weeks. Program costs are:
