The St. Columban Catholic Women's
League (CW I}) held their annual June Social
in the pariah ))all on Wednesday with a large
crowd. of ladir from churches in Seaforth,
Dublin, Mitclfl$ll, Logan, Brodhagen, Kenni-
cott, Kinkora.and St. Columban attendings,
The preaident,Angeline Swart welcomed the
guests. FatherSipekalso gave a few words of
welcome.
A humorous Irish skit, directed by Joanne
Melady and Mary Coyne, Was well performed
by Mary Ann Feeney, Mrs, Ken (Anne)
Murray, Ann Cronin, Sharon Murray, Patsy
Crowley, Mary Maloney, Catherine Ryan and
Ricks Van Steelandt.
Marg Ryan, and Sandra Claessens enter-
tained with three songs accompanied by,
Sandra on her guitar.
Those in charge of the various booths were:
door prizes, 'Glenda Murray; raffle tickets,
Mildred Cronin; penny sale, Maria Vogels;
bake table, Ruth Duffy; plant table, Luella
Murphy; baby afghan tickets, Marion Mur-
ray and lunch, Helen Nolan.
Winners of the draws were: quilt, Carol
Bowkar of Clinton; afghan, Mary Maloney
and ceramic pitcher and bowl, Maria Vogels;
baby of han, Colleen Fischer; four door
prizes of grocery boxes were won by Ruth
Duffy, Maddie Murray, Catherine Nicholson
and Cindy Maloney; two hanging plants were
won by Sherri Maloney and Margaret Shea.
Other houseplants were won by Lori Bruxer,
Marion Murray, Marianne Feeney and Tanya'
Van Steelandt,

SQUARE DANCING — The senior students of St. Patrick's School, Dublin held a musical
opera called "Just for Grins” last Thursday at the school, The Grade 6, 7 and 8 students,
approximately 60 of them, performed the opera which was about a group of young students
who strive to learn the Importance of a smile In everyday Ilfe. The play featured skits, eongs
and dancing. Square dancing was also part of•tho opera, with Jackie Megene, left and Debbie
Van Loon high-stepping It with some other performers. The school held two performances,

4-H REPORT
BY LISA MURRAY
McKillop 4 held their first meeting at the
home of Karen Van Bakel on May 21. The
topic for this club Is "Seed to Shelf" and on
"little seedlings.".
Members then picked out a cover.
After the meeting everyone enjoyed
refreshments provided by Karen Van Bakel.
McKillop 4 held their second meeting at
the St. Columban Church Hall on May 29,
Re -elections for president and secretary took
place. The new president is Karen Murphy,
vice-president - Lori Cronin, secretary - Pam
Nolan, treasurer - Sandra Claessens and
press reporter, Lisa Murray.
Other members are: Julie Cronin, Cindy
Maloney, Tanya Van Steelandt and Sherri
Maloney.
After elections everyone discussed how to
plant and care forPEOPLE their garden.
Dave and Janet Greenwood and Christo-
pher of Sarnia visited on the weekend with
Jack and Margaret O'Reilly.
Alphonse, Annie, Gordon, Jerome and
Anne Cronin, Clarence, Cecilia and Mark
Ryan, Joe and Olga Eckert and Mike Eckert
attended the wedding ceremony of Raymond
Kelly and Jennifer McPherson at St.
Joseph's Church, Stratford and the reception
at the Knights of Columbus hall, Stratford.
Raymond Kelly is the son of Jerome and
Theresa Kelly of Kinkora.
J.D. and Marg MacRae, Jenny and Ian of
Landon, Don and Brenda Ryan, Matthew,
Stephen and David of Melbourne and Gerry
and Karen Ryan, Jason, Amanda and Jeremy
visited on Sunday with Clarence and Cecilia
• Ryan.
Louis Nolan, Vincent and Dorothy Murray,
Anne Nolan of Clinton and Joe and Helen
Nolan attended the twenty-fifth wedding
anniversary of Bill and Anne (Nolan) Stockie
in Kitchener on Sunday.
Dave and Joanne Regier and family of
Kitchener, visited on the weekend with
Albert and Eileen Cronin and on Sunday
afternoon Steve and Nancy Cronin and
family, Jim and Karen Cronin and family,
and Jerry and Heather Cronin and family
visited with the Cronins.

Last Tuesday evening the Marian Ritchie
Evening Auxiliary met at the churctl with
Roberta Templeman presiding and,opening
the meeting with a reading on Chief Dan
George.
Jean Carey read scripture from 1st
Corinthians 13, and the roll call was answered
by naming an Indian custom. As a program
number, Mrs. Templeman read a humorous.
article.
For her topic, Alice Gardiner read two
selections from These Days, Peace of Mind,
and A Caring Presence.
Following the offering and prayer, Grace
Kerslake tk the book chapter on To
Reclaim a Heritage. which dealt with the
Ojibwa Indians on Binh island and their
attempt to preserve their heritage and
language through their children.
During the business, money was collected
for the Supply Fund and members were
reminded of the bus trip to the Saugeen
Indian Band atChiipp waNEHis, June 25.

First Cromarty Scout group committee
held Its final meeting of the year on Thursday
evening with Bill Mahon in charge.
Betty Stoneman read the minutes of the
May meeting. Beaver leaders, Margaret
Schrader and Twyla Waddell reported a very
successful Beaveree in Dublin, making .
special mention of the extra assistance given
them by Jim Pantchek-
At the Cuboree, Cromarty Cubs received a
Coleman cooler for placing second in the
inspection of tents. The leaders are pleased
with the new tents, the seeotld-hand one
purchased last summer and .the three' this
spring. As well, the Cubs and Scouts puttheir
leftover money from their dues together and
bought one more tent.
