On June 2, friends, neighbors and relatives
of Carla Knight gathered in the basement of
Brussels Presbyterian Church for a bridal
shower.
Carla is getting married at the end of June.
Carla, along with her attendants Brenda
W heeler, Kendra Fischer and Karen Knight,
her mother, Dona Knight and the groom's
mother, Mrs. Gunn, were seated at the front
and were introduced by Mary Huether.
After an entertaining program, Brenda
Ryan read the address and Carla was
presented with many beautiful and useful
gifts. Carla thanked everyone for Doming and

A miscellaneous shower was held on June 4
in the Brussels Presbyterian Church base-

A piano -organ prelude of inspiring sacred
music with Mrs. Howard Morton, pianist and
Mrs. George Procter organist, welcomed a
capacity congregation of members of Knox
United Church, Calvin -Brick and visitors.
Friends from Switzerland, Hamilton, Font -
hill, Ripley and London were at Knox United
Church, Belgrave, Sunday morning for its
Sunday School anniversary service.
The sanctuary and vestibule were decor-
ated with arrangements of peonies and
lupins, interspersed with greenery.
The processional number was sung as the
fourteen -member Junior choir, the primary
pupils and their teachers filed in to occupy
their allotted positions. Each member of the
school and service participant wore a pansy
corsage.
The Call to Worship was given by the
Superintendent W illiam A. Coultes.
The scripture was read by Alison Coultes
and it preceded introductory remarks by
director Ruth Gordon and a puppet presenta-
tion by puppeteers Robert Gordon and Jeff
McKee.
Other scriptures were read by Kate Procter
and Ruth Higgins.
The choir rendered the anthems with organ
accompaniment. Mrs. Procter also accom-
panied the hymn singing.
The service calendars were distributed by
Carol Hopper and Chris ,Michie. They were
aetisted in passing the offertory plates by
Steven Marks and Corey McKee.
Rev. John G. Roberts extended a welcome
to all visitors and expressed his appreciation
to all who helped with work done before,
during and after the service.

ANNUAL MEETING
The Huron West Women's Institute held
its 86th district annual meeting last Monday
in the W .I. Hall in Belgrave. The theme for
the day -long meeting was "W .1. Today -
Women involved."
Mrs. Cecil Elliott, district vice-president
called the meeting to order. Mrs. Peter
Campbell, president of the :host branch
welcomed everyone and Mrs. Harry Dougall,
a Federated Women's Institutes of Ontario
board director, ratified the district directors.

The Sacrament of Communion was ob-
served in Knox Church on June 1. Rev. Don
McInnis was in charge. A guest, Rev. Lloyd
Murdock of Fitton, Nova Scotia took part in
the service. He was a classmate of Rev.
McInnis at Knox College and is a commis-
sioner to General Assembly being held in St.
James Church, London. It is eleven years
since the two have met and they were looking
forward to an enjoyable week.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Bolger, Candice and
baby John of Vanastra visited recently with
Mrs, Gordon Engel.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley of Cranbrook
and Mr. and Mrs. Norm Hill of Brantford
Were guests of honor at a birthday party for
Court Fascination Ladies et Benmiller on
June 3. A smorgasbord dinner was enjoyed
and the ladies held a fashion show. Court
Constance ladies also attended.

Women's institute Was held on June 8 at the
home of Mrs. Bert van Donkersgoed. Mrs.
Van Donkersgoed, vimpresident, conducted
the opening exercises in the absence of the

Walton, who spoke on resolutions. A
