He is survived by his wife'Mrs. Mary E. (Smith) Broadfooli; a son, Stanley Rt (Bird) Broadfoot and his wife Patricia and five daughters, Mrs, Robert (Patricia) Spencer and Mrs. Loyd (Shirley) Messeroll, all of London; Mrs. Thomas (Jeannette) Gouthre, of Ottawa; Miss Dianne Broadfoot, of W indoor; and Mrs. Terry (Ruth) Hill, of Thamesford; two sisters Mrs. Harold (Helen) Connell, of Seaforth and Mrs. Allan (Marg- aret) Armstrong of Goderich, Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, William and Nettie Broadfoot, of Tuckersmith, two brothers Ross and Wilmer and one daughter Mary Jane. Funeral and committal services were held June 2, at the Needham Funeral Chapel, London, with Reverend Ken Emmons, of Wesley Knox United Church officiating. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Lon- don. WEDDINGS FAMILY Residents have party Pat Ryan was the winner of the Monday afternoon Seaforth Health Care Facility bowling at Nobels. 'Tuesday morning volunteers from the public school' helped residents with bowling. The afternoon was spent watching films with many laughs with Laurel and Hardy. Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Vanslyke held a worship service with Kathleen Cuthill accompanying the hymns on the piano. Residents enjoyed the beautiful weather outside on Thursday and Friday. Friday morning bingo winners were Irene Omand, Doris Smith, Cassie Nicholson, Bob McClure, Wilma Brill, Lucy ,Iiezzo and Dorothy Carter. In the afternoon a birthday party was held outside with;, cake and refreshments. PERSONALS Irene Omand was out shopping viith her family. Carol Geddes had her aunt BUM Brussels in to visit. Fitzsimmons Real Estate in Wingham and Vice President of the Huron Real Estate Board was one of more than 130 members of The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) who partici- pated in the association's national political action committee programme in Ottawa April 15 and 16. The programme featured address-, es by leading parliamentarians and meetings with most of Canada's MPs. While in Ottawa, Mr. Fitzsimmons had an opportunity to voice concerns directly to MP Murray Cardiff, Huron -Bruce, about the federal deficit and its effects, on interest rates, the case for longer term fixed rate mortgages, and . the need to entrench property rights in the Constitution. cousin Kelly Lamont. Bill Bezzo was in to visit his mother Lacy Bezzo, Erle Dow was out with his daughter Mabel Clarke of Bayfield. Prank Maloney was in to visit his brother Harold Maloney. Zack Ryan was in to visit his cousin Mary Ryan. Judy Nigh and her friend were in to visit her great grandmother Lucy Bezzo. Bill Scott, Eva Lambert and Lucy Bezzo have returned to the home after their stay in hospital. BIRTHS 1 VAN DIM :On May9, 1986 at 5:09 p.m. I was very pleased to become part of this beautiful world. My grandparents are Margaret Van Dyk, Sea - forth and Leone and Douglas Suter of Guelph. MOORE: Michael Wiliam Moore is pleased to announce the safe arrival of his sister, Nicole Elizabeth. Nicole was born on May 28, 1986 at 8:44 a.m. at Clinton Public Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs, 9'/2 oz. Raftls photo Brownies hold banquet The annual Mother and Daughter Banquet of the Seaforth Brownies and Girl Guides was held Tuesday, May 27 at the Legion Hall. The girls and their mothers enjoyed a delicious meal prepared and catered by the Legion Ladies. Brenda Derbyshire, Bonnie Janmaat and Helen Southgate of the Parent Committee thanked the leaders and the parents for their participation in the Guiding program and presented the leaders with tokens of appreciation. Each Brownie and Guide received an official camp hat, .as well. The 1985-86 leaders were: 1st Brownie Pack, Brown Oil, Liz Scott; helpers - Connie Marion, Uncia De Jong; 2nd Brownie Pack, Brown Owl, Ruth Johnston; Tawny Owl, Ann Laycox; Snowy Oil, Grace Butt; 1st Guide Company, Captain, Gail Hills; Assistant, Luanne Phair; District Commissioner, Susan Halfpenny, Nine Brownies received their wings and flew up to Guides. The new Guides are Jennifer Marion, Jennifer De Jong, Krista Greindanus, Tracy Janmaat, Jill Wood, Michelle Etue and Zanya Masson from the 1st Brownie Pack and Christy Layeox and Dana Dalton from the second Brownie Pack. 85 people attended the program, STOFM: The family of Archie and Cora Somerville take, pride and pleasure in announcingtheir • ar ifarents' Golden Wedding Annivers. ?i' %e couple were married fifty years ago on June 6, 1938 in a quiet ceremony at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Seaforth with the late Reverend Canon E. Appleyard officiat- ing. They were attended by the late Carson and Annie Alien of Guelph. Their parents were the late William and Dora Somerville of McKillop and the late William and Jane Strong of Tuckersmith. The couple farmed on the 13th concession of McKillop until 1984 when they retired to their present residence at 74 North Main Street in Seaforth. They have four daughters, Joan, Mrs. Ken Campbell of McKillop; Lois Ann, Mrs. Maurice Wathke, Kitchener; Jane, Mrs. Jack Harvey, Exeter and Linde, Mrs. Eric Ross, London. There are seven grandehfldren, Kevin, Kim and Brad Caunp- beti, Cheryl E'eiter (Harvey), Parn and Leanne Wathke, and David Ross. To celebrate the special occasion a family dinner was heid at Bobindates in Exeter on May 31 followed by an evening of reminiscing M the home of Ken and Joan Campbell and family in McKilop.
