A very successful pitching clinic was held
on Saturday, May 31 at the Walton Ball Park
under warm sunny skies. was the
Doug Neil from W Ingham'
instructor. Mite and Squirt players attended
in the morning while the Pee Wee and
Bantams had the af:,ornoon session. Each
tcher supplied their own catcher. There
were 50 registered as pitchers for the day.
BALL SCORES
The ladies s10 -pitch game on May 20 was
cancelled due to weather. The game, Manly
vs W inthrop is to be played after scheduled
games. Walton ladies team won over
Brodhagen, but lost to Cromarty in their
game of May 29,
Pee W ee boys lost to Belgrave then won
over their next two games with Listowel and
Bluevale.
Mite boys of Walton have lost both their
games they have played against Clinton and
W inthrop.
The W alton Squirt boys have played two
games, one with Walton winning over
Brussels on May 26, 13-10; the second with
Walton winning over Clinton 21 to 1 on May
28.
Typists win
Seaforth produced some winners at the
Ontario Business' Education Association's
40th Annual Provincial Typing Contest.
In the senior individual Joan Binnendyk
finished second of eight; m the senior team
Joan Binnendyk and Mary Margaret Kelly
finished first of three; in the electronic
individual Cheryl Regele finished first of
eight; in the electronic team Cheryl Regele
and Christine Preszcator finished first, of
three; in the junior individual, Madonna
McQuaid finished third of erlefi and the
e
novice, individual, Jane Papp
of eight.

Wednesday evening.
Harold McCallum, Rill, Walton, who lost
his barn to fire has started to rebuild this past
week. Willis Knight of Brussels is the
contractor.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Preszcator of
Crediton visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Chalmers and Josh at Walton and
also visited at the Regele-Hubley home at
Seaforth,

Mrs. Gordon Engel. Bernice will be a July
bride and living in London.

Relatives friends and neighbors attended
a commu ty shower for Bernice van
Donkersgo,. on Friday evening, May 30 in
the Comm ity Centre. A brief program
consisted a contest and dancing by
Jennifer an, Jolanda Vanass. An address
was read b Rosanne Burdett and Bernice
was presen =d with many useful gifts. Fruit
loaves and • everages were served by the
friends in arge. Mrs. Jack Conley, Mrs.
Sharon Engel and Mary Stuscin of London
attended the shower and spent the night with
Mrs, Gordon Engel. They left Saturday for a
few days at Collingwood. Also spending
Friday night at the same home were Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Burdett, Waterloo.
Mr. and Mrs. W Ufred Strickler attended
the 40th anniversary celebration for Mr. and
Mrs, Ed Taylor of Innerklp held at Drumbo on
Saturday, May 31.
