Ten area scout groups attended the afternoon event, including Seaforth, Tavistock, Shakesneare. Fullarton, Kirkton, Milverton, Cromarty, Ellice, St. Marys and Mitchell. Don and Darlene Smith and family and Brian and Justin Smith, of Barrie, visited on the weekend with Tom and Eileen Sloan. Leo and Mary Smith and Sonia of Acton visited on Sunday with Ab and Eileen Cronin. Pat Subject, Carrie, Ryan, Jeffrey and Nathan and. Louise Ryan of Kitchener spent the weekend with Clarence and Cecilia Ryan. Gordon and Beatrice Costello of Kingston and Father Jack Costello of Windsor visited on Friday evening with Joe and Helen Nolan and attended the wedding of their nephew Mitchells makes a face on Nicholas Collings, while Corey Campbell, both of Mitchell, watches and wafts for his turn. One hundred and twenty descendants of the late John and Louise Eckert attended the 12th annual family reunion on Sunday, June 1 at the Dublin Pavilion and Recreation Centre. Hosts for this year's reunion were Jim and Merlyn Eckert and family, of Waterloo. A prayer service and Benediction by Father Carrigan was held at one o'clock in St. Patrick's Church, Dublin to open the reunion. Races, games, a balloon toss and a baseball game were held on the Community Centre Recreation grounds. An afghan and pillow crocheted by Sister Margaret Eckert was won by Bette Eckert of Cambridge and three door prizes of lawn chairs and chaise lounges were won by Mark Ryan, Colleen O'Rourke and Bette Eckert. JOHN TEMPLEMAN 345-2346 The May meeting of the Hibbert United Church Women was held in the Famly Life Centre with Maureen Dearing and Linda Butson in charge of the service of worship. Following the devotions came the introduc- tion of the guest speaker, Vicki W illiamson of Town and Country florists, Mitchell, who told about her craft. She demonstrated the making of several floral arrangements and a corsage, and later generously distributed these to members of her audience. The business portion of the day, chaired by Florence McPhail, dealt with plans for anniversary Sunday and the strawberry supper. Following the Benediction there was a spring plant exchange and then all enjoyed refreshments served by Barbara Pullman and Barbara Worden. For Service Please Calls Jean Murray, daughter of Ray and Vera Murray was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower on Wednesday evening in the St, Columban Church parish hall. About 50 friends, relatives and neighbors attended the shower hosted by Jean's bridesmaids -to -be. A humorous fashion show was put on by her friends, portraying Jean in various stages of her life. Jean was presented with many useful gifts. A Buck and Doe was held on Saturday evening in Orangeville for Jean Murray and Brian Harris and attended by relatives from the surrounding area. Bill and Martha Murray attended the wedding of the latter's cousin on May 24 in W allaceburg. A reminder to all ladies in the surrounding area the St. Columban C.W.L. Girls from Staffa 1 and Staffa 3 4-H clubs entertained Staffa Women's Institute mem- bers and friends at the regular May meeting of the Institute held in the township hall on Wednesday evening May 28. Institute president and 4-H leader, Kay Smale, introduced Lee Ann Lannin, who gave an interesting account of her recent week spent in British Columbia where she enjoyed three days at Expo. Lee Ann said the pavillions she enjoyed most were Ontario, British Columbia and Canada Place. The president Kay Smale opened the meeting with the Institute Ode, Mary Stewart Collect and a poem. Eighteen members and eleven visitors answered the roll call by naming their favorite flower.
