The past week has been busy around the
Legion.
At theregular,monthly meeting held May
15 it was decided to donate $1,000 to the
Charitable Foundation, which is funded by
the various Legions throughout the country
and throhgh which the local hospital has
received grants. This fund is administered by
appointed Legion personnel from each of the
Districts in the Province. The remainder of
the meeting was spent receiving reports from
the standing committees.
An installation team headed by Comrade
Frank Golding went to Exeter last Friday
evening to install their officers. After the
' installation ceremony the remainder of the
evening was spent dancing. Seaforth officers
were installed Saturday evening with the
Exeter branch doing the honors. Dancing and
lunch followed. The members of the Branch
would like to congratulate Past President
Jack Muir for his contribution to the progress

Of the Branch over the past two years. Jack
has been the first Associate President of the
Branch and must be commended for his
desire to serve the Legion to the best of his
ability. Congratulations to new President Jim
Watson' who has been an Associate for a
'number of years. Jim is well known in the
Branch for his contribution to the sports
program and is wished a successful term of
office.
The Zone held a Diamond Jubilee invita-
tion golf tournament, hosted by the Clinton
Branch at the Bayview Golf Club Sunday.
Approximately 75 golfers were present from
the different Brandies of the Zone. Seaforth
had one team entered. They had a pleasant
afternoon of golf.
For the next two weeks some members will
be going to the Convention in Edmonton but
Comrade Tom W ilbee has volunteered to
write the column for the paper...
At the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.
Auxiliary elects officers

Elections were held at the May meeting of
the Seaforth legion Ladies Auxiliary.
The following were elected; Past Presi-
dent, Thelma Coombs; President - Ann
Wood; First Vice President - Jane Case;
Second Vice President, Eva Brown; Secretary
- Peg Coombs; Treasurer - Marg Ungarian,
Sgt. at -Arms - Olave little and Executive -
Fern Chesney, Mary McLean, Penny Lan -
sink, Ida McUwain, Gloria Racho, Gerry
Fraiser. The following were appointed to the
office; Sports Officer - Annie Malcolm, Sick
and Visiting - Mary Chapple; Auditors - Betty
Hulley and Janet Rice; Membership - Gloria
Racho; Honors and Awards - Barbara Scott,
Eva Brown, Peg Coombs, Thelma Coombs
and Olave Little; Buying Committee - Joan
Eaton, Jean McNaughton, Betty Hulley and
Olive Betties; Entertainment - Jane Case,
Penny Lansink, Mary McLean and Gloria
Racho. Pianist - Edith Jessome and P.R.O.
Barbara Scott.
These ladies were installed in their
respective offices Saturday night at a joint
installation with the Branch 156. The
installation team from Exeter Branch came.
Seaforth had been to Exeter on Friday night
to install their new officers.
A very successful bowling tournament was
held last Wednesday with 17 teams of ladies
from out of town competing. Three teams
from the Seaforth Auxiliary also took part.
Thanks and congratulatidns Annie on another
good day.
Don't forget the June meeting being held
on June 5. A decision on where we will go on
our annual bus trip will bie made at the
meeting. Those on the sick list are wished a
speedy recovery.
