Mr, Herman Bnbolz, of Egnlandville,
intend() removing to East Wawanosh,
Pear Auburn, where his daughter, Mrs.
J. Doerr resides. The many friends of
Mr, and Mrs. Bnbolz will be sorry to
have then, remove from Egwondville,
but the good wishes of all will follow
to their now home.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Lever
was the scene of much gladness on Wed-
nesday evening of last week, wheu their
daughter, Miss Jennie was, married to
Mr, Geo. F. Coultas, of this township.
Rev. J. J. Hustle, of Belgreve performed
the ceremony in the presence of a num-
ber of iuvited guests. Tho evening was
spent in various amusements and all
present wishing Mr. and Mrs, Coultes
many years of happiness and prosperity.

Ill', J. C. Ross has returned home
from Kintail, where he spent two weeks
getting out timber.
Mr. John Cooper, of Gravenhurst, is
visiting with Mr. and Mrs, J. S. Golden,
the latter being his sister.
Mrs. A. McVicar and children, of
Atwood, are visiug the lady's parents at
the Presbyterian manse.
Mr. Stephen McKenzie, of Galt, and
Mr. Angus McLeod, of East Saginaw,
Michigan, were here attending the fun-
eral of their Mother-in-law, the late Mrs.
Bainton.
Mr. Abe James, of Kootenay, British
Columbia, arrived in town last week
to visit his cousin, Mr- James Tayldr,
of Morris. It is 15 years since Mr.
James left this locality for the West.
Mr. E. Livingston and family moved
to their new home on Westmorelaudst
last week, and Mr. James Cutt and
family are moving into the house va-
cated by Mr.•Livingston on the corner
of Dinsley and Morris streets.

The death of Jane McLaughlin, the
relict of the late Geo. McLaughlin of the
Base like, Hallett, Feb, 17th, removes
au aged landmark and a goodly long
resident from onr midst. Mrs, Me.
Laughlin was born in county Cavanagh
Ireland, in 1825, coining to this county
with her parents when but 2 years old,
settling in Durham County, where she
was married in 1847. With her husband
they moved to Huron, renting what is
now kuowu as the John Pickard farm,
on the Cut Line; afterwards securing
the Woon farm on the Bayfield Road
From where they moved to Belgrave,
but finally returned to the Base Line,
and settled on the farm now occupied by
by T. Lindsay. Here they spent the re-
mainder of their earthly days, Mr. Mc-
Laughlin dying about four years ago,
since then Mrs. McLaughlin has been
living with her daughter, Mrs. Jas. Mil-
ler. Old age coupled with an accident,
which she received some years ago and
from which she never fully recovered,
was the cause of death. A family of
five sous and three daughters aro left to
mourn the loss of their last parent.
These are David, of Aberdeen, Dakota;
Eli, of Barrie; Mrs. Jas. Miller, Mrs
John Lindsay, Goderich tp.. and Mrs. E.
Wightman, of Belgrave. She was a
member of the Presbyterian Church.

Miss Minnie McCifll purposes return-
ing to the West with her brother Albert,
before long.
Mr. Wm. Findlater has a cow that
gave birth on Sunday morning to twin
calves. This is a rare occurrence.
We regret to state that Mr. John Mc-
Millan is still confined to his home in
Morris with serious illness, His many
friends hope for his speedy recovery.
Tuesday of last week a telegram was
received by Mrs. Alexander Forsyth, 3rd
Iline, stating that her neice, Jessie
Thompson, of Ayr, aged 8 years had
died on Monday evening at 7 o'clock.
Thomas Russell, au old and well-known
resident of the 6th line, has been on the
sick list, but is getting all right once
more. These veterans are made of good
stuff and don't give in to ailments until
it is compulsory.
Tho 100 acre farm of James Sharp, 5th
con., has been bought by his son, James,
who recently came home from Toledo,
and intends resuming agricultural pur-
suits. Mr, and. Mrs. Sharp and daughters
will move to Brussels where they have
purchased a comfortable home.
Mr. John McElroy, jr., cf Morrie
has a heavy draught colt eight months
THE old that weighed 1030 pounds on Feb-
ruary 15th. The colt was got by Des.
ford Marquis and measurer; 11 inches
bone in the hiud leg and six feet one
inch girth.
Mr- Wm. Johnston of Morris, visited
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Mc-
Kee on Wednesday, says the Forwieh
irir MARCH 3 Record. Mr. and Mrs. Johnston pur-
pose celebrating the golden wedding .on
Match let and expect to have the whole
family home for the occasion. He was
accompanied by'his son, Robert who is
home frons the West. They intend to
visit Harriston and Palmerton frieitds
before returning -home.

Win Booking of the 10th con. had his
left hand badly Burt while at work in
his sawmill. He was removing an
obstruction from the saw while it was
running when his mitten was caught,
his hand drawn against the saw and
part of two fingers taken off, and the
thumb somewhat damaged.
A pretty but quiet home wedding was
solemnized at the home of the bride, lot
33, con. 6, Cuirass, on Wednesday, 22nd,
when Mies Kate McKenzie and Mr.
Albert E. Hall of Toronto were united
in marriage. Rev. G. M. Dunn per-
formed the ceremony in the presence of
a few friends. Mr. and Mrs. Hall took
the Teeswater train for Toronto where
they will reside.
Council met on Feb. 20th, 1005.
Members of the Cogncil all present ex-
cept Mr. Purvis, The minutes of last
meeting were read and sustained.
Mr. Falconer was appointed Chair-
man of Finance in the absence of Mr.
Purvis.
Moved by Jun. D. Kuntz,' sec'd by
Wm. Baptist, that the By -Law for con-
firming the appointment of the paid offi-
cers of the Township for the present
year be now read, passed, signed and
sealed, Carried.
The auditors then presented their re-
port of the finances of the township for
the year 1904 and the Council having ex-
amined the report and compared the re-
ceipts with the expenditure found it cor-
rect.
It was moved by John D. Kuntz, see'd
by Win. Baptist that the auditors' re-
port be adopted and that the Clerk have
two hundred copies of thr report printed
for distribution. Carried.
Baptist -Kuntz -That J. J. Stephens
be appointed to act as solicitor in giving
any legal advice that may be regnired`by
the members or officers of the Council.
Carried.
Falconer -Kuntz -That the Pathmas-
ters, Poundkeepers and Fenceviewers be
appointed at next meeting of Council.
Carried.
Kuntz -Baptist- That the parties
heroin named be appointed to attend to
the different bridges at the time of the
freshet in the spring. The bridge on the
14th con., Alex. Bannerman; con. 15, on
gravel road, Wm. Taylor; con. 12, Robt.
Smith; con. 10, Jas. Day; 25 Sideroad,
con. 10, Frank Purvis. The two on the
7th con. at lot 25, Jas. McLaughlin, the
one on the 20th sideroad con. 6, Wm,
McDonald. Carried.

R. Henry Leishmart, of Arcola, Man., I
and formerly of East Wawanosh. The
ceremony was performed under an arch
of lillies of the valley and a silver bell,
in the presence of a number of invited
guests, by Rev. T. 13. Conpland, of
Auburn. The wedding march was play-
ed by Miss Coupland and the bride, who
was given away by her father, was attir-
ed in white silk, with the customary
bridal veil and wreatli of orange blos-
soms and carried a bouquet of white
carnations and maiden hair fern. Little
May Chamney, sister of the bride made
a beautiful maid of honor, dressed in
white organdie and carried a bouquet of
pink carnations. After the ceremony a
sumptuous repast was served. The
bride was the recipient of many useful
and costly presents. Mr. and Mrs.
Leishman leave next week for their
home near Arcola, Mau. and the best
wishes of their many friends will follow
them for many years of happy wedded
life,
