Ron and Mary Ryan spent the weekend at
The Martyr's Shrine in'°Midland,
Alphonse and Annie Cronin spent a few
days last week with Jim and Bonnie Mair, of
Teeswater.
Mary Smith of Acton, visited on the
weekend with her parents, Ab and Eileen
Cronin and on Sunday Dave and Joanne
Regier and children, of Kitchener, visited
with the Cronins.
Ab Cronin is a patient In the Seaforth
Community Hospital, `We wish him a full
recovery.
Don and Brenda Ryan, Matthew, Stephen
and' David of Melbourne visited on the .
weekend with Clarence and Cecilia l y son
Alphonse and Annie Cronin, Gordon
Cronin, Jerome Cronin, Ann Cronin and
other members of the Cronin family attended
the First Communion of their granddaughter
and niece Lasa Cronin on Sunday at St.
Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, in Mitchell,

A silent auction of plants, baking and crafts
followed the May meeting of the Marian
Ritchie Evening Auxiliary on Tuesday
evening. Mary Elliott presided,
Faith of our Fathers was sung followed by
the scripture and meditation on the roll of
fathers in the Christian education of the
family,, taken by Ruth Laing. Hazel Harburn
gave a humorous reading. '
Ten members answered the roll call. The
Presbyterial bus trip to Camp Kintail, the
Saugeen Indian Band at Chippawa Hills and
Huron Feathers at Sauble Beach on June 25
were announced. Anyone wishing to go
should contact a Marian Ritchie member
before their next meeting on June 10.
New golfers out
of baking and crafts held
O'Connor, Cromarty. Following the dinner
they returned to Gail's home for cake and ice
cream.
Sandra Orr, Barrie, visited recently with
her mother, Eve Chabassol. Mrs. Chabassol
returned home last week after holidaying
with her sister-in-law in Florida and her
daughter Sandra, in Barrie.
Lillian Douglas visited last week with her
friend, Katherine Ross and attended the
Oxford South Women's Institute District
Annual at Tillsonburg.
Jeff and Margaret Allen, Guelph, visited
Sunday with her parents, Bob and Ruth
Laing, and Tom.
Congratulations to Jack and Betty Anne
(Miller) Christie who were married in
Cromarty Church on Saturday. Many from
here were guests at the wedding and
reception which was held in Kirkton-Wood-
ham Community Centre.
Mrs. Elliott conducted a contest, Pun
Country.
The flowers in church on Sunday were in
memory of the lar Jean Miller, whose
funeral was held in Mitchell on Sunday
afternoon. Mrs. Miller, when she was able,
was very active in the Women's Missionary
Society, Ladies Aid and the choir. Sympathy
is extended to her son, Uoyd; his wife, Doris
and their family.
Church services od May 18 and 25 have
been cancelled so members can attend
Hensall and Staffa anniversary services.

Congratulations to Ted and Elizabeth
Harburn who celebrated their 30th wedding
anniversary at the Golden Dragon in London.
Helping them celebrate were their family,
Gail and Jim Holliday, Denise and Scott,
Landon; Bob and Maureen Harburn, Richard

wasn't big enough for him. His trips to town
were getting expensive, so Bogey now lives in
Port Stanley with a kennel full of fellow
hounds. (The noise is deafening). However,
before Bogey left he managed to leave a
lasting impression with local golfers, not to
mention a few others. Bogey could leap over
hedges and fences and run about 40 miles an
hour. His favorite sport was stealing
headoovers off of golfer's clubs. Once he

pursuit, nine iron wielded high overhead.
I remember hearing one junior from out of
town asking why there were no traps. The
local junior replied that we didn't need
hazards - we had Bogey! He sure interrupted
a few golfer's conce tration.
Now there is D Teaching him not to
chase balls and st headcovers will be a
major task. Teaching the golfers not to feed
him may be more difficult. We thought he
was going to bring Dan Halldorsen a major
victory at the Memorial tournament, but
