Diamond Jubilee Ball a great success
Thursday, May 15 is the regular meeting
night Comrades, so please plan to attend if
possible. This is the last meeting under the
present chairman Jack Muir, As of June the
President elect Jim Watson will assume his
duties as President. Under the guidance of
President Jack the. Legion has progressed in
many ways. Some of the improvements have
been a paved parking lot and spotlights both
in front and in rear of the building and
recently the renovations to the upstairs hall.
The new table tops are now in use, thanks to
the Ladies Auxiliary and are a big improve-
ment to the old tables. To Jack and his
executive, the Branch, on behalf of the
members say thank -you for a successful term
of office.
The installation of new officers will take
place Saturday, May 24 with an installing
team from Exeter doing the honors, After the
installation the remainder of the evening will

The Diamond Jubilee Ball held last Friday
was a great success. After a social hour the
Ladies Auxiliary served a buffet dinner which
was enjoyed by all present. They were
thanked by the President elect Jim W atson.
President Jack Muir opened the dinner
meeting and toasts to the Queen and Fallen
Comrades were made by Padre Frank
Golding. Comrades George Miller, Diamond
Jubilee chairman and Steve Maguire, Zone
Diamond Jubilee chairman spoke on the
theme of the sixty years of service and faith in
the future. Brian Dale and Helen Nicholson
were the recipients of the two Diamond
Jubilee coins valued at $25 which were drawn
from the tickets of those present. After the
meeting was closed the remainder of the
evening was spent dancing to the music of
"The Royal -Aires."
