In the book 'Explaining Death to Children, the editor, Dr. Earl A. Grollman states "In explaining death to children, the parent may proceed from two areas of concern the inter- pretative where religious concepts are explained and the factual area." Religious concepts would include those that describe the qualities of God as understood in the religion practiced in your family. These should be of a positive nature highlighting the love of God for His children and everyone in the fancily. The factual area would include those concepts which explain that death means that life stops; the person will not and cermet return to life, and the body will be buried The child will follow your example more than the words you use to explain the post -death procedures. But the primary need of the child is to be listened to and to have the questions answered briefly and with truth and love. This is a subject you fnay wish to diseuss at length with your minister and funeral director, Both of us will be glad to kelp. REDUCE THE TAX BITE!!
