HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1986-05-07, Page 27• Local Lagoon distributes 7,000 tulips in town BY GORDON SCO'iT, PRO Last September the Legion distributed some 7,000 tulips around the town and local countryside; By the middle of this week, all these tulips should be in full bloom reminding all of the Legion's Diamond Jubilee anniver- sary this year, 60 years of service to the eonumunities and the veterans of two great wars, This week also marks the cessation of hostilities in Holland when the Dutch people became a free nation again. They still do remember the sacrifices of the Canadian troops and of their own people as was evident at the 40th anniversary celebration last year. There are only a few tickets .left for the Diamond Jubilee Ball at the time of writing, for Friday night. Anyone wishing tickets please phone 527-1787. Tickets will not be available at the door. Please write your name on the back of your ticket as there will be a draw for two diamond jubilee coins valued at 25 dollars each during the evening.
