Anyone who has driven down the street by
the Legion and wondered what is different, it
is the fact the fence has been removed from
the rear of the ranch The fence was erected
a dozen or so years ago by Bill Wilbee and
Frank Phillips and probably others. If anyone
has any good suggestions as to what should
happen to the rear of the building please let
property chairman Garry Finnigan lmow. As
yet there have been no decisions on whether
the fence should be replaced or not. •
The renovations in the banquet hall are
qow complete. The comrades who did the
work are to be congratulated for a job well
done. It certainly has been an improvement to
the building. The new storeroom downstairs
should be completed this week. •
The final Cribbage night was held last
Monday night with five tables in play. On
behalf of the players and the Branch thanks
goes to Mel Melanson for taking the time to
start these nights. It is hoped to be continued
again next winter.
The Dart league finished its season with a
potluck supper Friday with about 20 of the
dart players attending. Trophies were
handed out to the winners of the year's play.
The top' lady was Barbara Scott and the top
man was Charles Perkins. The high singles
went to Janet Rice and Gordon Scott. Marilyn
Hodgert and Cleave Coombs were the
recipients of the hard luck trophies. Ann
Laycox accepted the secretary's position for
the ensuing term The remainder of the
evening was spent playing darts.
Two teams of dart players attended an
invitational dart tournament in Mitchell on
the weekend. Considering the branch has
been playing only two years now, the players
did reasonably well. Flora Muir and Brenda
Hodge came third in the consolation "B" and
a team consisting of Barbara Scott, Ann
Laycox, Roger Laycox and Gord Scott won the
"R" consolation. Next Fall it is hoped there
