Women of the congregation participated in
the 50th Anniversary Worship Service at
Duff's United Church. Bonnie Lamble led the
service which celebrated the contribution
women have made to the church and its life
through the years.
Giving the prayers were Pearl McCallum,
Helen Craig and Karen Hoegy. Beading
scriptures were Margaret Craig, Marilyn
McDonald and Joyce Van Vliet. Greeters
were Anne Clark and Elizabeth Lamble.
Ushers were Martin Baan, Howard Hackwell
and Campbell Wey. Organist was Marion
Godkin.
Next Sunday is Walton Spring Thankoffer-
ing at 2 p.m. with special guest, Mary Ellen
Knight and special music provided by the
New life Singers.
Thursday, April 24 joint Walton-Bluevale
Board meeting in the Walton Church at 8
p.m.
Friday, April 25 a bake and plant sale and
afternoon tea will start at 2:30 p.m. in the
Presbyterian Church, Bluevale.
W ALTON 1 UNIT
Music was the theme for the April meeting
of Walton 1 unit.
The devotions were opened by Gloria Love
and Doreen Hackwell. Marion Godkin led in
songs of music. Margery Fraser continued
with the theme on music for the topic. Marie
Plans were made for the Thankoffering this
Sunday. June 1 is the last day for the bale
articles to come in. This unit was asked to
serve at Nancy Bennett's reception, July 19.
Marilyn McDonald brought reports from the
Unified Board Meeting. There will be a new
person hired to clean the church every week. °
A Happy Hour was spent with Phyllis
Mitchell showing her crafts and helping
everyone to make an item.

visited Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs.
Harold McCallum at RR 1, Walton.

spent Sunday last at the home of Mr. and Seaforth visited at the Hubley-Regele home

Mrs. Knight hosts meeting

Ellen Jaeklin gave the treasurer's report. It
was moved by Brother Harry Jacklin,
seconded by Brother 13.ob Bremner that bills
and accounts be paid. Sister Mary Ellen
Jacklin made a motion that a committee to
bring in a slate of officers for 1986-87 be put
together. Sister Mary Ellen won the 50-50
draw.
The next Fbrester's euchre will be held
April 35 when the big draw will take place. A
lunch was provided by Brother Gary Evans,
Brother Donald Clark and Brother Bob
Bremner. The next meeting will be in
Cranbrook May 13.
When John Strickler arrived at the
Commtmity Centre April 5 for the card party,
he was totally surprised to and the occasion
was a 40th birthday party for him. It was
arranged by his wife and family. Friends and
relatives from Ingersoll, Thamesford, Wood-
stock, Monkton, Newry and Cranbrook
enjoyed an evening of dancing and cards
followed by dinner and birthday cake.
