Call 348-8991, Mitchell Bill Ducklow, Manager Centenaires on verge of OHA title Seaforth Centenaires split a pair of home games and earned a win on the road to take a 3-1 lead in games and put themselves one game away from winning the OHA Junior D title in the past week. A win Tuesday (last night) would give them a series win over the Delhi Flames, by a margin of four games to one. A loss would force a sixth game to be played Friday, April 18 in Delhi. After winning the series opener in Delhi, the Centenaires kept rolling with a 5-2 win, at home April 8. They dropped a 2-1 decision in a tight -checking home game April 11, then came right back with a convincing 7-3 victory in Delhi Sunday night, April 13. SEAFORTH 5, DELHI 2 Seaforth took control early in the April 8 game, and took a 4-0 lead into the third period, on the strength of two goals by Kevin Melady and one each by Mike Betties and Dave Akey. Jim Campbell assisted on both of the latter goals, with Jerry Wright also drawing a pair of assists and Dave Murray and Tom Turner each helping out on one. Melady's second goal was a power play tally. Delhi showed some life in the third frame, when Derek McConnell put them on the board at the six minute mark, but a return goal by Andy Russell, assisted by Akey and Murray, restored the Centenaires' four -goal lead. A, power play by Ron Deporter, of Delhi, rounded out the scoring with 3:20 left m the game. Keith McClure faced 39 shots in the Seaforth goal and Gary Lazou handled 41 for Delhi.
