AUXILIARY NEWS.

The April meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary
to Branch 156 was held Wednesday with 24
ladies present. A member was initiated into
the Auxiliary and all wecome Kathy Nigh and
look forward to working with her.
It was decided to send four delegates to the
Auxiliary Convention in Windsor in Septem-
ber.
Reports were given by each committee
with sports chairman Annie Malcolm men-
tioning invitations to some invitational
bowling tournaments. She also reported on
the local tournament on May 14. Anyone who
would like to go bowling should get in touch
with Annie for details.
The Auxiliary extends its deepest sympa-
thies to Ina McGrath and family on the loss of
a husband and father.

' About 40 members and wives travelled by
bus and visited four other area branches
Saturday. Members of the Exeter, Lucan, St.
Marys and Mitchell branches welcomed
Seaforth with the hospitality, second to none.
The c omradeshrp shared on these trips will be
remembered fur quite some' time.
This weekend is the Spring District
Cgnvention in Hanover. Anyone wishing to
gd on Sunday, should get in touch with
President Jack Muir or Gordon Scott. The
meeting is called to order at 10.00 hours but
registration continues until 11. A parade will
be held at 12, marching to the cenotaph
where wreaths will be dedicated to the
memory of the fallen. On return a dinner will
be served by 'the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Hanover Branch and the afternoon meeting
of the convention will continue.
The last stag euchre for the season was
held Wednesday with nine tables in play. On
behalf of the euchre players and the branch,
thanks goes to the chairman, Larry (Skinny)

organizing the,,, Wednesday night euchre
throughout the winter months. It is these
members who volunteer their time and work
that makes the 'difference between a good
club and a mediocre one. Once again
"thanks" Larry.
The tickets are now available for the
Diamond Jubilee Ball to be held May 9. The
"Royal -Aires" have been asked to play that
evening and are certainly no strangers to
many members It is hoped everyone will
enjoy their music. There are only tickets. for
80 couples so get your tickets as early as
possible. We will have more on this at later
dates.
The market at Brussels Stockyards follow-
ed the week's decline with the United States'
cow reduction policy placing pressure on beef
prices. Overfinished cattle were discounted,
feeder pigs sold higher. There were 856 cattle
and 526 pigs on offer.
Choice steers -78.00 to 82.00 with sales to
88.00.
Good Steers -74.00 to 78.00.
Nine heavy steers consigned by Bruce
Bros. of R.R. 1, Belgrave averaging 1410 lbs.
sold for an overall price of 80.64 with a sale at
88.00.
Choice Exotic Heifers -77.00 to 81.00 with a
sale at 87.00.
Choice W hite-faced Heifers -74.00 to 78.00.
Nine heifers consigned by Cecil and Karl
Raszmann of RR 1; Monkton averaging 1165
