Service presents message
The Sunday evening service at Bethel Bible
Church, Egmondville was very much appre-
ciated by the senior citizens who attended.
The message of the evening was presented
In a unique way. By using a combination of
suitable hymns, passages of scripture, and
comments, the Pastor Rev. A. Robertson
suggested how we could meet the strain and
stress of living.
The special music for the evening was the
Lohb Brothers' Quartet of Clinton. Bruce,
Murray, Hugh and Gordon's singing of
gospel hymns was much appreciated.
After the service refreshments were served
providing a time of Christian fellowship.
Ann Ryan and Dorothy Papple arranged
the program for the recent meeting of the
ladies auxiliary of the Ffrst Presbyterian
Churdr.
Mrs. Papple opened with a poem and a
piece of poetry was read on Roxboro as it was
in 1919. It told about the different stores,
mills, and a tavern they had then. It
mentioned the Scott McMidtaels, Mc142f1-
lans, McDowells and flays.
Mrs. Crouch recited a couple of pieces on
contentment written by Wendell Holmes and
one on forgetting things that happened.
The meeting,ended with some contests.
