Walking Club enjoying weather

Queensway Nursing Home residents have
been keeping quite busy. Everyone is eager
to participate in activities, especially the
Walking Club, thanks to the lovely spring
weather.
On Monday, March 31 the Hensel] United
Church Ladies lid their last Bingo for the
month of March. Also on Monday afternoon
residents had an Easter Party. They had a
sing song and then sharerd tea and special
cupcakes brought in by the Zurich Mennonite
Church Ladies. Thanks goes to Carol
Deichert, Jean Gingerich, and Dorothy
McAuley for the delicious cupcakes.
On Tuesday the Ceramic Club met again.
By the end of the class they had a whole load
of cleaned and painted articles ready to be
fired. Tuesday afternoon Rev. Stan McDon-
ald performed the Easter Church Service. It
Helen followed this with a poem about
Easter. Helve Fuss showed a film on the
Native Peoples.
The meeting closed with Audrey Christie
reading a poem. A lunch was served by Alice
Ferg and Audrey Christie.

The regular meeting of Amber Rebekah
Lodge was held on April 2. Vice Grand
SisterLois Jones presided assisted by Vice
Grand Sister Bonnie Upshall. It was reported
Sister Edith Bell has been admitted to
Stratford Hospital for tests.
District Deputy President Sister Leona
Connelly will be making her official visit on
April 16. The lodge will be having a banquet
at the Carmel Presbyterian Church at 6:15
p.m. on that evening in her honor. Members
were also reminded of the Dessert Euchre to
be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 1 p.m.

The Queensway Choir is practising regu-
larly and are sounding better every practise.
They are even learning some new songs.
On Thursday residents enjoyed the movie
presentation entitled, "The General" with
Buster Keaton. Everyone thought it was an
excellent, movie.
On Friday afternoon Father Mooney
performed a service for the Roman Catholic
residents, Later Friday afternoon several
made a welcoming sign, to put in the main
entrance way.

Elizabeth Alexander and Ethel Alexander
from their stays in the hospital.

by Helen Scone. She opened with a reading.

hospital this past week,
The tenants had a good turnout at the
potluck supper last Monday night.
The Chipchases are busy attending hockey
games to see their family play.
CHURCH NEWS
"Something Happened to me in Church
Last Sunday and I've Never Been the Same
Since" was the sermon title at the United
Church on Sunday morning. Mr. McDonald
based his thoughts on Psalm 73.
Mrs, Norma Pryde was the organist for the
service and led the choir.
Glen Hayter greeted the congregation and
the ushers were Ross Veal, Lloyd Ferguson,
Lorne Gackstetter and Dennis Martin.
The flowers at the front of the church were
placed in loving memory of Ella Drysdale by
her family.
Following the service everyone enjoyed a
fellowship hour over coffee and cookies in the
Fellowship Hall.

On Sunday Rev. Lorne Keays spoke on
"Making Allowances." The children's story
was based on a compass which is sometimes
needed when one is lost to locate directions.
Next Sunday during the Church service there
will be an installation of all members of the
Official Board.
The Kippen United Church Women's
meeting on Monday, April 14 will be in the
form of attending the Huron -Perth Annual
Presbyterial meeting at 7 p.m. in Central
United Church in Stratford. If a ride is desired
or more information is needed, contact
Mildred MacGregor.
INSTITUTE NEW S
The annual meeting, scheduled for Wed-
nesday, April 16 will take the form of a
resolutions meeting. It will start at 8:30 p.m.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Mason who celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary on April 5.
Many relatives, neighbors and friends of
Belgrave and area attended the 80th birthday
party in honor of Dan Hallahan of Blyth. It
was held at Snell's restaurant, Westfield on
Sunday afternoon.

4-H NEWS
Members learned how to reply to an
invitation at the fourth meeting of the Kippen
3 4-H club.
A letter was sent in to a national 4-H
conference, inquiry about the club's inten-
tion.
Members were also shown how to pack a
suitcase properly, and some of the members
got to practise with real props. They were
taught who to tip at a hotel, and a skit
followed entitled "Tipping people."
