Ruth Axtmann spoke on being a consumer
at the Match meeting of the W alton W omen's
institute. Mrs. Axtmann is a convenor for
Consumer Affairs. She also showed members
how to candlewick.
Business was in the charge of Leona
McDonald. Margaret Shortreed waS pianist.
Minutes and correspondence were read by
Margaret Shortreed followed by a financial
report. Thanks was extended to those who
had helped at Cook's luncheon and those that
took part at the birthday party, March 13 at
Callendar Nursing Home, Brussels.
Plans were made to serve a noon meal to
the Majestic institute for their annual
meeting, April 9. It was decided to serve
another noon luncheon at the hall on April 2.
It was moved to have a euchre on Tuesday
evening, April 15, with a dessert euchre set
for April 29 at 6:30 p.m. Committees were
chosen. The Walton Institute's annual
meeting will follow a hot meal April 16.

There was also a discussion on fixing the
front flower beds. It was decided to look into
someone giving their ideas with Margaret
to bring it back to the next meeting. There
was a lengthy discussion on birthday
calendars.
Maxine Marks reported for the nominating
committee bringing in the new slate of
officers. Viola Kirkby reported on the district
executive meeting she had attended recently.
The County Rally is to be held in W alton on
October 6.

CANVASS COMPLETED
Canvassing has been completed in South
Morris, Grey and Morris in Walton for the
Heart and Stroke Foundation. Approximately
$740 was collected. Thanks goes out to the
canvassers. Mary Douma and Elma Watson,
fith line; Isobel Craig and Betty Ryan - 7th
line; Evelyn Blake and Cathy McNichol - Bth
line; Shirley Shobbrook and Allan Searle - 9th
line; Walton - Marjory Humphries and
Maxine Marks. Phyllis Mitchell was co -con-
venor of this area.
CHURCH NEW S
Rev. Cheryl -Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa was
guest minister Sunday morning at Duff's
United Church, W alton and Bluevale United.
Bonnie Lamble took the service at Egmond-
ville United Church. .
Communion at Walton was served . by
Margaret Craig, Viola Kirkby, Roy William-
son, Ray Huether, Ken McDonald, Bruce
Clark and Graeme Craig.
Greeters were Roy and Linda Gingerich.
The organist was Elva W ilbee and ushers
were Jim McDonald, Paul McCallum and
Murray Dennis. Flowers in the church were
in memory of David Rosekat.
Several attended the pancake breakfast
prior to the service. Next Sunday the Easter
service will be at 11:30 a.m. Family Service.

London, was one of a number of out-of-town-
ers who were drawn to Seaforth Sunday to
participate In the Fiddler's Jamboree.

Donna Hannon has returned to White-
horse, Yukon, following a visit with her
family in Stratford, Seaforth, Thamesville
and London and her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Dave Watson ' at the Ranuneloo Guest Home
near Blyth.
Gordon and Laura Murray, Seaforth visited
with the W atsons and Sadie McDonald at the
hoe last W ednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Osborne of Elmvale
were in the village last Saturday calling on
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Graeme Craig, Michael and
Shannon enjoyed a holiday in Florida
recently.
Blaine Marks was a participant in the
Fiddler's Jamboree on Sunday at the
Seaforth and District Community Centres.
Many p eople from this area attended.
Brent Pryce, Winthrop spent the weekend
with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson
Marks.
Visiting Ruth Thamer the weekend of
March 15 were John and Kim Thamer,
Kitchener; Tony Thamer and friend, Wheat-
ley; Bill and Charles Gulutzen, Blyth area.
Ruth Thamer, London visited Saturday
evening with her mother.

visiting in Dayton Ohio with Mrs. Mary Yost

Norman Hubley and Idella Regele of
Seaforth visited on Saturday with Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley Preszcator at Crediton.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stevens of Listowel
called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold
McCallum at R.R. 1, Walton and at the
Hubley-Regele home at Seaforth on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ward of RR 4, Walton
visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Ward, Jennifer and Michael at RR Staffa.
Helen Byers of Seaforth visited her
daughter Verna Edgar at Dublin.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Byers -of Kitchener
visited their mother Helen Byers at Seaforth
last week.
Norman Hubley and Idella Regele of
Seaforth visited Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hinz at

Women shared a message of Faith and Hope
when Shirley Luther of Hensall addressed
their Easter meeting in the Family Life
Centre.
Everyone enjoyed a vocal trio of Mrs.
Luther, Verle Mahon and Margaret Christie.
The balance of the worship period was
conducted by Elaine Colquhoun and Marg-
aret Daynard.
Baptism held
Members were then invited to the table to
be served an Easter treat of hot cross buns by
the hostesses, Yvonne Dow and Margaret
Christie.
A short business meeting, chaired by
Gwen Christie completed the programme and
the quitters returned to their craft.
PEOPLE
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mahon have returned
from a holiday in the sunny south.
Mr. and Mrs. Rob Templeman, Carrah and
Cain holidayed in Ronda for the school
break.
A good crowd attended and enjoyed the old
tyme dance Friday evening in Staffa Hall.
