enjoyed an evening of crokinole and other
games, Mervin Dow, Christopher Scott,
Sarah Elliott and Pearl James won first and
second prizes for the men and ladies
respectively, and Amy Hodgert had the lucky
Easter egg prize. Winner of the lucky coffee
cup was Hazel Harburn.
Doris Miller presided for the March
meeting of the Marian Ritchie Evening
Auxiliary at the home of Ruth Laing, and
opened the worship service with a poem.
• Betty Lou Norris was pianist for the hymns.
Roberta Templeman read the scripture and
the meditation. Eight members answered the
roll call, For the topic, Ruth Laing read two
stories from Western People.
Alice Gardiner was in charge of the study
on the effects education has on the Indian
people - the lack of understanding of their
desire to study the Indian history and culture
and their need and ability to take advanced
• education in modern technology. She was
▪ assisted by Mary Elliott, Betty Lou Norris,
Hazel Harburn, Roberta Templeman and
Ruth Laing.

Kelly Marie, infant daughter of Don and
Theresa Cronin was baptized on Sunday,
March 16 at St. Columban Roman Catholic
Church by Father A. Sipek.
Kelly Marie's sponsors were Murray and
Chris McClure of Brucefield.
Guests attended the baptismal ceremony
and later at the Cronin home were grandpar-
ents Jim and Dorothy Delaney of RR 1,
Dublin and Jim and Mildred Cronin of St.
Columban. Frank Cronin, Father Sipek and
Murray and Chris McClure and children were
also in attendance.
FINAL EUCHRE
The final game in the Knights of Columban
weekly euchre for this season was held Friday
evening in the Knights of Columban Hall in
St. Columban with 11 tables In play.
The winners were, ladies high, Marg Van
Bakel; low, Marie Gelinas; men's high, Joe
Visser; low, Cinth Vogels and most lone
hands Leon Maloney.
4-11 REPORT
"Getting Around" was the topic discussed
at the McKillop 4 Particular Planners fourth
meeting. It was held March 20 at the home of
Karen Van Bakel,
Members discussed answering an invita-
tion, how to pack a suitcase, clothes to take on
a vacation and having a house guest.
At the end of the meeting the girls enjoyed
squares and juice brought in by Lori Bruxer
and Karen Murphy.
COUPLE'S RETREAT
"There's more to success than dollars and
cents" said Ken Knox, keynote speaker at
the Farm Couples' Retreat held on the
weekend at the Holiday Inn in Guelph. It was
attended by June Anne and Wayne Chapin,
Mr, Knox is the director of the Farm
Products Marketing Branch, Ontario Mini-
stry of Agriculture and Food. He -stressed

For the special number, Mrs. Miller gave a
reading, The Beautiful life, and the meeting
closed with prayer.
The First Cromarty Boy Scout group
committee held its March meeting at the
home of Ruth Laing with an attendance of
eight, Upcoming events for the boys include
the Beaveree in Dublin on• May 31, Bottle
Drive on April 12, Cub Car Rally on April 19, a
W ildwood outing for Cubs on April 26,
speakers at Cub meetings on trees, airplanes,
and council.
The Scouts have a floor hockey tournament
on April 5. One new Scout leader will be
needed for next year. There are now enough
boys in the Scout troop to require three
leaders. The annual meeting of Perth District
Council will be held in Seaforth on April 10.
PEOPLE
Congratulations to Jennifer Cronin who
has been successful in passing her second
figure in figure skating. She also passed the
European Waltz, and Fox Trot dances.
Jennifer skates out of the Exeter Figure
Skating Club and plans to start the spring
skating sessions in the Ilderton club in April.
Tom Laing, who won four free tickets to a
Maple Leaf hockey game in Toronto at the
Brodhagen Snowmobile Rally, attended
