"Restaurant Manners" presented by Lisa
Poppe was one of the topics taught at the
third meeting of the Particular Planners held
at the home of Ann Cronin.
Members learned how to introduce and
thank a guest and to eat meals away from
home and at banquets.
The girls enjoyed the food and beverage
brought in by Lori Cronin and Sherri
Maloney.
Manners and the family was the main topic
of discussion when the Egmondville 9-H club
met recently at the home of Helen Van Loon.
Club members also talked about how to use
the telephone fairly, and what to do and not
to do at a table.
World Day of Prayer
`COME
Duo to severe weather conditions the
yearly World Day of Prayer event for the
Seaforth area had to be cancelled.
The host church this year was the Cavan
United Church of Winthrop but the service
was to be held at Northside United in
Seaforth. The theme this year was to have
been "Choose Life in its Artiness" with
readings from Northside United. First
Presbyterian. St. Thomas Anglican and SL
James CatholicChc rthes. A special dramatic
presentation was to be put on by Egmondville
United Church and a special singing solo by
Julie l nbling of Bethel Bible Church.
The offering from this large service Is sent
directly to "Inter -Church Council of Canada"
and is representing 11 major denominations
in Canada. It is used to support ecumenical
projects in many areas. Each church is asked
to use their own discretion in sending a
donation to this organization since the event
did not take place and could not be
reorganized for a later time.
A great number of ladies were involved in
planning this event and hope that next year
the "hast church", which is St. Thomas
Anglican Church. is blessed with nice, sunny
weather conditions.
