Beef and pork barbecue a success
BY GORDON SCOTT, PRO
The Beef and Pork Barbeque held Saturday
was a decided success with approximately
200 attending. Most of those who dined also
stayed for the dance afterwards and enjoyed
the music of "The Country Companions."
Apparently when some of the people were
leaving someone inadvertently picked up a
grey cloth coat instead of a grey corduroy one,
which is still at the Legion. It would be
appreciated if this mistake is rectified at the
earliest possible moment. Also there was a
pair of grey low heeled, open toed shoes
taken by mistake. W e hope this mistake is
remedied as well.
This Saturday evening, the euchre chair-
man Larry Broome has indicated there will be
a potluck supper and mixed euchre at the
Branch at 7 p.m. For those that like euchre
this is the chance for an evening of good
entertainment. Any of the dart players who
would like to participate in the potluck supper
are welcome to do so. Darts will start at 7 :30
p.m. instead of the normal 7 p.m.
The Legion has two cribbage teams going
to the District finals Saturday in Hespler. It is
hoped they have a little luck and most of all,
good cards.
Renovations to the upstairs hall will be
started immediately according to President
Jack Muir. The necessary permission has

now been received and members will try to
have the job done as soon as possible. It is
hoped this will be a big improvement to the
building.
Thursday night is the executive meeting of
the Branch at 8 p.m. Plan to attend if at all
possible. The following Thursday, March 20
is the general meeting. This meeting is also
for nominations to the various offices in the
branch. If anyone wishes his or her name
placed on ,the committees this will be the
opportunity for this. The following month of
April will be the election of officers for the
ensuing term. All Life, ordinary and voting
Associate members are urged to attend.
There are still quite a few membership cards
that have not been picked up at the Branch
yet. Please drop by and receive yours.
A the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.
