Walton Correspondent on the Huron -Perth Regional meeting she
MRS. ALLAN McCALL had attended in Exeter recently and also

Conference to be held in Stratford, April
A large number of people from the
Presbyterian Church and Sunday School
enjoyed a noon luncheon at Ken 8hortreed's
bush. They were taken back to the bush by
two sleighs driven by teams of horses. The
big thrill of the outing was when taffy was
made and everyone enjoyed the treat.
W ALTON AND AREA SPORTS
The executive of the Walton Area Sports
club met at the home of Bev Stevenson for
their March meeting. In their business it was
decided to have a pitching clinic on Nlay 31 for
anyone interested at the Walton Ball Park.
For the monthly draw winners were Glen
Falkiner, Goderich - $100 and M. Duma - $25.
4-H CLUB
Walton 1 4-H club "Etiquette in the 806"
held its second meeting recently at Elsie
Carter's home and the officers were appoint-
ed as follows: President - Glenda Carter; vice
president, Pam Nolan; secretary - Sherry
Hoggy; press reporter - Heather Baan.
RO11 call was answered by four girls, then
discussion centered on getting along with
your family, how to answer the phone
correctly and take phone messages, how to
give a party and send out correct invitations,
and good table manners.
GENERALMEETING
Thirteen ladies attended the general
United Church Women meeting, Wednes-
day, March 5 in the church basement.
Walton ll was in charge of devotions, led by
Karen Hoegy and assisted by Marilyn
McDonald and Margaret Craig.
Olene Dennis had the topic on Stewardship
and Finance.
The business portion was chaired by
Dorothy Sholdice. Minutes were read by
McClure family

Announcements were given out for coming
events. There will be a pancake breakfast on
Palm Sunday, March 23 with communion the
same day. Spring offering at Duff's is the
afternoon of April 20 with Mary Ellen Knight
guest speaker. .
There was some discussion on the music
night which will be looked into for sometime

Congratulations to Joan Clarke of Walton
who won a trip for two to Nashville for the
Easter weekend. Her name ' had been
dropped in at the Bauer Travel Service a few
weeks ago. The draw was made Sunday
afternoon over C.K.N. X. radio.

and Mrs. Victor Ward of RR 4, Walton, Mr
and Mrs. Bill Ward, David, Billie Joe and

and Idella Regele of Seaforth. The occasion
was Amy's first birthday.
Mrs. Harold McCallum of RR 1, Walton
spent last Tuesday with her sister Mrs.
Stanley Preszcator at Crediton.
Mrs. Victor Ward of KR 4, Walton and
Mrs. Bryan McClure and Amy of RR 2,
Seaforth visited at the home of Norman
Hubley arid Idella Regele one afternoon last
week.

held its meeting at the home of Margaret
Dunbar on Monday, March 3.
Mrs. Garner. Nicholson presided and
opened with the call to won3hlp and then gave
a reading. ,
Ivy Cloakey read the scripture, Robena
McBurney gave a meditation and Mrs.
Dunbar led in prayer.
Mrs, ,jv,lIcBumey gave the secretary's
report afld'the treasurer's report was given
by Mrs. Cloakey.
The topic was taken by Mrs. Mac Scott.
Mrs. Nicholson closed the meeting with a
reading.
The hostess served lunch and a social time
was enjoyed.
WEEKLY EUCHRE
Nine tables were in play at the weekly
euchre which was held in the Women's
Institute Hall Wednesday, March 5.
Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Wilford
Caslick; novelty lady, Gertrude Allen; low
lady, Mrs. Stanley Black; high man, Albert
Quipp; novelty man, Les Vincent and low
man, Norman Coultes.
There will be euchre tonight starting at 8
p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Women's Institute will be held on Tuesday,

The Cranbrook 4-14 club discussed the
proper way of eating fruit and spaghetti as
well as manners at the dinner table and
manners while dining in a restaurant when it
had its third meeting at the home of Grace
Van Donkersgoed.
The dub members are Bev Hart, Jean
Lacking, Heather Perrie, Anna Marie Terp-
stra, Mary Ann Terpstra, Carrie Grisdale,
and Peter Workman. Thera are no new
members.
