Seaforth wins in
drama festival
The first annual Central Huron School
Drama Festival, held at the Blyth Memorial
Hall on February 28 and March 1, was a great
success. The quality of acting and stage
management was very high, in addition,
students took part in two workshops on set
construction and design as well as various
aspects of downing. These proved to be very
popoular and all students gained valuable
new skills.
After the adjudication was complete on
March 1, all five high schools in the county
were rewarded for their fine work and talent.
F.E. Madill won the Best Original Script
award. Seaforth District High School won an
award for the best Ensemble work. Goderich
District Collegiate won the Best Tech Crew
Award. South Huron in Exeter won the best
actor and actress award for the "Bravest"
performance. Central Huron Secondary won
the Most Outstanding Production Award for
their work on the first act of Boiler Room
Suite, Everyone was a winner, including the
audiences which attended both nights to lend
their support to actors, and crews from
various schools.
All across this county, students are
accomplishing incredible things on stages
which more people need to know about. Next
year, the Festival will continue with another
slate of bright, enthusiastic individuals
giving it their best in performances guaran-
teed to delight and entertain all who attend.
