tion, the township has only $11,500 in its
reserve fund.
Mr. Jeffery recommended council budget a
substantial amount for reserves in 1986,
Mr. Jefferyalso pointed out tax arrears are
considerably higher than in other years, with
arrears making up 18 percent 'of the total
1985 tax roll. in 1985 the arrears were 11 per
cent and in 1983, they were 13 per cent.
Council also discussed, but made no
decision on a recommendation from Ontario
Hydro to replace some of the older street
lights. as parts for the older lights are
becoming difficult to purchase.
Hydro suggests high pressure sodium
righting, which produce more watts than the
mercury vapour ligrlts or fluorescent lights
and have a projected life span of six years.
Ratepayers will bear6o per tet of the cost
of replacement. A public meeting will be held
before any decision is made.
Council renewed the contract with Arteeka
Canine Control, Mount Forest, with the fee
for regular patrols increased from $35 to $40
per month.
